Auto Start/Stop

So I had auto start/stop working on my car but after the most recent update it seems that even after changing with BimmerCode the changes have no effect on the auto start /stop. I read in another forum that for I believe the f30s that the update made BimmerCode not work for that and BimmerCode is trying to figure out how to get around it.

Can anyone confirm. Also are there any other workarounds that aren’t risky to get this to work.

That is true. I have not seen any fix, but Bimmercode is saying they are working on it. I don't expect much since BMW has implemented an encrypted server which needs to be contacted for any (most?) changes to complete.

if you have a tune on it it's usually a setting, to enable/disable it in the tune.

I've read that the Auto Start Stop function memory still works so theoretically, with the memory function enabled, you would only have to turn off ASS once and it would then remember it the next time you use the car, though you may need to disable it again after using Eco Mode.

I haven't been able to confirm this but hope to do so today.

I disable it by using sport/individual with mild settings.

The Auto stop button is right next to the Start button. I've just made it part of my "turn on the Car" sequence: Push 'Start'; Push 'auto off'; Push 'Sport' [I know that makes 'auto off redundant]; Push/hold 'Top Down'; release parking brake; Select 'drive' and off we go.

Not really that hard to do

It seems that is incorrect. The ASS memory function seems to also no longer work. I tried it multiple times and ASS reenabled itself each time. Hopefully BimmerCode will have an update soon.

Does this mean Bimmercode no longer works on newer models (like, at all)?

Bimmercode has not claimed any capability for the ID8./ID8.5 cars, such as the MY24 X5/X6 LCI.

Oh I see how my phrasing is confusing. For the G29s running ID7, are those no longer compatible with the newer updates?

OK. If by 'new' you are referring to ID7 systems with 03/2023.xx or newer, the only limit (so far) is the DME (Engine Control Unit) has been locked by BMW. It now requires connection to a BMW server to allow modifications. Coding still seems to work on all other modules.

The result is any function in the DME such as ASS cannot be coded using BimmerCode or other aftermarket coders. BimmerCode says they are looking at options. I'm not holding my breath.

I coded my car to start in Sport Individual Mode (Body Control Module). That disables ASS and I can have the settings mostly to Comfort. I had already done that on my MY22 X5 as they removed the ASS button from the console when they introduced the mild hybrid. So Sport or Sport Individual was the easiest way to control ASS.

Also, with ID7 it is update dependent. I have my auto update turned off, so my ID has not been updated to the version that breaks Bimmercode.

Of course it isn't hard to do. It's the principle of "beating the system".

There's a 755 page forum thread on coding-related troubleshooting, including auto start/stop:

Yes, very nice. Bimmerfest is also a great place to go for coding.

However, does any of that thread resolve this issue with the 03/23 update and Auto Start Stop?
