Dynamic handling package

For those who has dynamic handling package w M sport brakes on their Z, do you guys feel the brake is a bit too sensitive and stiff for daily commute ?

many owners say that the blue brakes are too sensitive for city driving, it is better to take the regular ones if you are not going to track

I actually love the brakes in all driving conditions. They are sensitive but the responsiveness and stopping power is like nothing I’ve ever had in a car previously. They’ve already saved my bacon on one occasion. My biggest concern is wether the guy behind me will be able to stop as reliably as people tend to ride your ass in this car.

I have the Blue breaks and have never felt they were too sensitive or anything but great. As Skinbc said, they have saved me several times due to people not seeing me and pulling out in front of me or some other crazy situation.

I love them - no issues with being too sensitive. And I drive my car daily in Atlanta traffic.

Mine happen to be red, but they are the same brakes.

Will echo other’s opinions. I’ve had the blue M sport brakes on my last two cars. They work great and aren’t overly sensitive.

I have noticed that they tend to squeak a bit the first time I drive the car if it’s been sitting for a few days. May not be an issue for you, but I only really drive on the weekends so the car usually sits a few days between drives.

Suggest testing optional equipment in other models if Z4 unavailable. You might be unhappy without Adaptive M Suspension if brake comfort is a concern.

My only gripe with the brakes is the excessive dust, other than that they're great.

Excellent all round brakes. Your foot determines how sensitive they are & muscle memory quickly adapts to them.

To me the primary function for brakes is to stop you as quickly as possible from whatever speed you are running at. Everything else is secondary.

They are great on the interstate if you have to quickly slow from high speed.

Dust problem is manageable with a product like "Outlast", believe it has a new name. Spray it on clean wheels & most dust will come off with a dry paper shop towel. Follow up with you regular wheel cleaner they respray Outcast.

To me it's a bit over-responsive or maybe I need to train my foot on the brake

To me...it's a bit over-responsive to a point it's uncomfortable to drive sometimes or maybe I just need to train my foot the brake since this is my first Z. I haven't had any issue on squeak yet.

It's harder and more responsive than Porsche Macan GTS PASM, but the only good thing is that at least Z doesn't squeak on brake. I guess I need to retrain my foot to adapt it...

Well...since M40i is heavier than s30i, so I assume it produces more dust on brake? I haven't seen a lot on mine yet

I find them work well with light pressure, or heavy pressure, as appropriate for the situation.

With regards to brake dust, the ceramic coating I had put on makes it easy to clean off the dust.

I have a bit of that issue on my s30i with standard brakes. When coming to a stop below 5 MPH, they require a very delicate touch to come to a gentle complete stop. Without the delicate touch, they'll cause the car to almost lurch to a stop, something I'm unfamiliar with on any previous vehicle I've owned. It's not really an issue so much as a learning experience.

My brakes do make noise initially if the car hasn't been driven for a while. I consider it a normal symptom of the brake pads releasing from a slight oxidation of the rotor.

It might be obvious, but humans are incredible at adapting. The brakes may not be what you're used to but it wouldn't take long until you are.

The only downside I've found in cars I've owned with sensitive brake pedals (large rotors and such, which I have upgraded too) is that when you go to another car you'll start thinking "wow these brakes are squishy".

Mine feel a little grabby when coming to a stop. But the feel diminishes as the brakes get warmer. They do require a more gentle touch, though.

They are a bit sensitive but I’ve already adapted. It doesn’t take long.

I order my brakes in RED, so surely the color has nothing to do with it

But seriously, the brakes are fine and comparable to my previous Porsche. I would not say they are overly sensitive, just about right for my taste, on or off the track/twisties.

Same brakes two colors. Red was a no charge additional color added around 2021/2022

It's pain in the butt in heavy traffic; you constantly worry about people in the rear
