Some people are totally ignorant and just buy into marketing...others know what constitutes a performance car. This is a homologation special; some of the best street cars ever were homologation and hot hatches are some of the most fun cars around.

I love the chassis and the stats. Impressive numbers too for a 3 pot, and good light weight. It would tear up a dirt or snow road for sure. I just don't like the body on it. Front end is ok, rear reminds me of a Renault Twingo which for me is a deal breaker.

I think lower HP cars are way more fun on the streets.
When I give some throttle in my car I'm already at way illegal speeds before I know it. Although... 250+ hp is still a lot. I'd say something with low 200's would be fun as hell. Or even high 100's and extremely light weight. |

Always. The peak of motoring is to understand that speed is not what thrills it's HOW a car gets to speed and how it deals with speed and changes of speed.

Will do!
Will be a ways off, right now they're only taking deposits to secure build slots. Won't be till April may that I can spec the car, delivery not expected till August/September. If the UK doesn't get the circuit/track pack with LSD front and rear, I'll probably cancel and wait for them to release that version. |

It looks like it would be a riot to drive. Toss on some winter tires and go play in the snow!

Video: Walk around of the craziest hot hatch..Toyota Yaris GR
I was out at Tokyo Auto Salon earlier this month and there was one car that was surrounded with people more than any other. So much so that I had to sneak in early one day before the show started so I could get some quick video and pictures of it.
Cliff notes: 1.6 3 cylinder turbo 258 BHP/360nm torque, manual gearbox, switchable AWD 60:40, 50:50, 30:70, 1 Torsen LSD per axle, Carbon Polymer Body Panels and 1280kg's. |

I'm so bummed we don't get the GR-4 stateside.
I had a celica very similar to the white one in the background as my first car, though I think they came with a slightly different body kit and wheels in the U.S. |

Honestly? It's an almost 270hp AWD sub-compact car. And a hatch at that. That's amazing.
I can't think of any other brand that does this. Not Subaru, not Honda, no one. The only thing close is the 500 Abarth. Aesthetically, I would prefer the Hyundai N line look which is way more subtle, but this is an order of magnitude better than the Civic type-R. And the interior is just simple, not transformers, which is great. I get that this is a 'toy' and competes with something like a Miata, so no practicality is expencted, but if they made it in 4 doors that would be awesome since then it becomes more realistic to use daily as you can fold down the rears and get an actual trunk. This was a $15k car. To the manufacturer it has less than a couple hundred bucks in parts bolted on, which means naturally it will cost over double the base model which I find insulting. Seth |
