Stillen charged 370z

Curious to see what people's thoughts are?
http://www.the370z.com/forced-induct...ouncement.html

Should be pretty decent though...supposedly will be a dealer option...

I'm curious to see some actual numbers when it's released... Might check it out here in a year or 2 if it actually lives up to these expectations!

Torque numbers look borderline 'pathetic' (at least for the horsepower). Should be pretty decent though...supposedly will be a dealer option...

Looks very good....anyhow torque is not this engine main quality. I'm not a fan of torque.

I wouldn't say the torque numbers are "pathetic" considering in stock form the car only did 237.81 ft-lbs in stock form. A 100+ ft-lb gain is pretty respectable if you ask me. That engine bay looks horrid though.

good point, I didn't look at the stock numbers.... I'm going to edit my post. Those are some respectable gains, didn't realize how low they were stock!

That makes for a damn good alternative to a tuned 335 or z4. $37k for a 438whp z4 competitor (370z) or $43k for a tuned 335i competitor (g37 coupe). So for the same price as a 335 you could have a supercharged g37. That's pretty awesome. It would take $2k-3k in mods to get that kind of power out of the n54 as far as whp is concerned. Obviously, the n54 would have a lot more torque when at a comparable hp level to the VQ.

I can't wait to see some drag races between a 135/335 with full bolt ons vs a 370z/g coupe with a stillen supercharger and other boltons. Good times!

I ALMOST bought a 370Z before I got my 1er. POWER was the reason I didn't - no turbos.

This looks freakin' awesome. If the 1er goes, this might be next...

yep I'm extremely curious to see the end result. The initial numbers look insanely impressive.
I know the 370z isn't in the 'bmw' world in terms of some of the quality. But all the crap that comes standard (bmw 'comfort access', etc) is pretty nice for the price of the car....

And the resale on these things are crap so you can get a hell of a good deal too... dealer out this way has 4 2009s still on his lot...

I have friends that have gone through like 3 engines in there 350Z's and 370Z's I would never buy a Nissan and take it that far out of warranty.

in their 370z's?? Do they post at all? I wander over to the 370z forums occasionally and I haven't seen anything along those lines at all....

370z look great and cheap s/c and turbo kits means lots of possibilities.
If the 370z was out when i bought my car i would have went with it. (mainly because it would have been 25k cheaper)

Looks awesome. I was never into the 350/370 scene, but I remember hearing horror stories about boosted 350's blowing engines and never really performing as well as they should. I considered a 370 as well, but the lack of turbos kept me away.

I hope this doesn't require us to get a built motor and forged internals like the old 350z... sigh.
Let's see the reliability on these kits!

I'd say that for Bmw. Not Nissan

It's not the reliabilty of these kits. It's the VQ motor itself.
NOT boost friendly. Ticking bomb...

Im not impressed with the VQ motor. I tried the 350Z Nismo and the 370Z. I don't think any supercharger is going to help with its inherent 'lazy' feeling. Its a motor for cruising i think, not for winding it out. But there is no doubt the car can move.

Last time I checked GTM has a twin-turbo setup for the VQ37HR motor pushing over 480rwhp with stock internals. I also remember reading the VQ37 motor share some components with the GTR motor.
