I worked part time jobs in my younger days and it was a know fact that you dont get benefits when working under 40hrs. Dont see how this is any different?

Companies like HD, WF, SBUX etc. made positions desirable by offering benefits to part time employees. Some even went as far as offering assistance towards tuition. I agree with you that part time work rarely ever meant anything more than a paycheck when we were growing up but people who are in an uproar about WMT being evil and the management is awful etc. should probably be chanting the same about WF/AMZN however I highly doubt many if any will at this point despite the fact that the president of the company makes $19mm an hour and can cover the benefits of all the employees who he cut in less than two hours. I would like to see AOC, Bernie, O'rourke and the like make public statements against Bezos for these measures but I suspect since he is one of their cheerleaders we will not get much out of them.

This is the salient statement. We shall see but I'm confident that we will get "crickets" from them.

Exactly my point. At a minimum AOC should pop out and say something along the lines of "immoral" as she has in the past regarding the actions of billionaires and warren should use this as a talking point for her taxation of the wealthy and if they do... will WaPo even cover the topic?

So personally I think what Whole Foods did sucks and would love to see Bezos step up and be a decent human being. However, it's America and he 100% has the right to do what he did. Dont like it, folks? Get a different job. Dont shop at Whole Foods. Boycot Amazon. Invent the next thing that's BIGGER than Amazon and then do what YOU think is right with the profits.

I agree completely; my issue isn't with what he did. My issue is with the selective anger and outrage.

What has that got to do with someone who has a job with benefits and then has them removed?

The known fact in this instance is that they did get the benefit.

One step closer to the company store days. Benefits, retirement, all that shit is going away fast. The prosperity the working class enjoyed in this country for a few decades, those decades being absolute outliers and blips in human history, is fading away.

Unfortunately they can change your benfits from year to year. This crap happens all the time. Not saying it is right but these days companies are constantly shortchanging their employees and it is all done legally.
