BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Didn't see a post for this so I thought I would make one. The Z4 configurator is up on many international BMW websites (of course not in the US though ).

Per the configurator:

That's a very limited color palette and frozen colors are not for everyone too

Wish it looked more like the concept

That concept was so striking it got me all hot and bothered. Not so much with the production car... I wonder what diluted the appearance; design by committee or regulations.

Anywho... I'm sure the M version will look epic.

To keep prices down, BMW has been de-contenting cars sold in the UK and limiting options. There is still some access to individual accessories, but it's not the flexibility that UK buyers have enjoyed ever since BMW effectively relaunched in the 1960s. Despite being the next biggest market to Germany, we have fewer cars, few options and fewer configurations than any other country in Europe.

There are at least eight M Sport colours available if you buy the same car in Germany.

UK buyers don't really care, though; they all lease their cars with the same monochrome colour schemes, spec it for the next owner to ensure a nice comfortable balloon value, and throw it away after three years anyway.

Pretty sure even the BMW CEO said the chances of a Z4 M are slim, the only reason the Z4 is being made is because of the Toyota partnership

Seems like OEMs routinely deny future performance variants initially.

Makes sense that they might not want to shoot their entire PR wad at the start of a fresh product life cycle.

You're probably right. they are probably also waiting to see if this sells well. If the new Supra sells like hot cakes, you can bet on a sportier variant.

Many are hoping is that it does well enough to justify a full M Version.
