Garage door programming mirror not working

Hello. I'm sorry if my English is bad. I took the mirror of another vehicle and installed it on my own vehicle (2012 F20). My problem is this; The compass works perfectly, but when I press and hold the 1-3 key to reset the program, I get no response and no lights come on. Do I need to code this mirror to work at F20?

Many of the newer garage door openers have rolling codes that change each time the opener is used.

When I programmed that type of opener for my 2005 Mustang with Homelink I had to find the right Homelink directions. IIRC, it was a two step process to have the car learn the rolling door code, but I don’t remember the exact steps.

I also programmed the door code in my F30, so it does work.
