As of this time, RWD is US only. But this can always change, of course.

Alright…thanks a lot…still hope for a RWD V8 G30 with the Alpina B5 for the EU-Markets, although there is not much hope due to the B7 being AWD only.

Odd to me that the f80 will end prod almost two years earlier than f82.

Anyone know what's up with that?

EOP for the M variants aligns with the EOP for the series cars

EOP for F30 = EOP for F80

it was to do with the actual release of the body style, ex- the f30 came much before the f32

Same with the e90, the last year they made it was 2011, and the e92 stopped production in 2013

LCI M4

Does anyone have a guess at when the LCI M4 will start production?

I'm planning on putting in an order for June '17 ED, and I'm hoping I'll catch the LCI. I'd consider pushing back my delivery date if needed, but I'd really like to catch the Goodwood Festival of Speed while I'm there (June 22 - 25, 2017).

Based on the EOP date for the F82 of June 2020, I'd hope they'd get at least three years of production out of the LCI.

I recall Scott also confirming the F48 X1 would have a m35i xDrive variant like the upcoming X2.

Any more info on the F87 M2 other than the 2018 LCI? I don't see an EOP date or any info on alternate variants (i.e. CS with or without a S55).

Right now, the only thing I know about M2 Competition is that it exists and won't be made available before M2 LCI.

F48 M35i, if such a thing ever materializes, is still too far away for me to confirm or deny or know any details about.

I can no longer provide precise SOP dates. But for M4 LCI the strategy should be to simply wait until March 2017. If nothing is announced at that time, then it's virtually guaranteed the SOP will be July 2017, with first ED availability not earlier than August or even delayed until September (if there's a hold until specific date like it often happens with M models).

620 GT? Way to devalue the 6 series after positioning it as a more expensive alternative to the A7 and CLS. All the reputation that the E6X and F1X have gained over the years as being some of the most distinctive and stylish BMW's in the line up and almost rivaling the 7 series in terms of prestige and price is about to be tossed in the trash. Damn. March might be cutting it a little close for a late June ED. I'll talk to a dealer and see what they have to say. Thanks for responding!

Correct. BMW wussed out and didn't make an E46 M3 sedan.... but... the E36 M3/4 stopped during model year 1998 while the E36 M3 coupe ran til 1999 for exactly the same reason.

It's not the same engine exactly. E70 X5M uses the O0 revision, F10 M5 uses T0, and F85/F86 will come with T2, so I would expect about 10hp/10lbs bump. This is in line with F15 using the same engines as E70, benefiting instead from lighter weight and improved drivetrain. And it's been the norm for a very long time now for BMW to use the same engine with minor variations in many different models.

No idea what kind of transmission will be there - the source doesn't specify that.
Not quite true. BMW M used to make a new engine for each new M. With that said...is an X5/6M really an M car....hmmm not really.

Id say it's only been the "norm" for BMW since....I guess 2012/13 with the last true m3 e9x.
Since then the new Ms engines are all variants of mass production 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 series....oh wait I forgot to stop.

You get the point. And it truly is sad/ironic cause I feel like NOW everyone is on the bandwagon....BMW will never put an F1 engine in an M ever again. Too much $$$$$ production costs. If there was ever an "engine" to buy it would be the e9x/e60....long gone now.
