It's really worth it , to listen to Grosjean !

What a drive from the GOAT.

Pit stop behind in the early part of the race and wins by 31seconds driving inter tyres that resembled slicks, whilst lapping his team mate and championship "contender".

1- The moment when MAX gave it away. I just took step by step screenshots .

2- But actually MAX was waiting .....
3- While I took the screenshots , I noticed that MAX didn't lost it by overtaking .

This is the conclusion I drew when I watched it on tv, no downforce and Max went for dance.Should have stayed back a bit and bided his time.

Yes, he did go for a walk...right to P1 and his 7th Drivers Championship.
2 more and he’ll have more Drivers Championships than Max has race wins

Again, Max is a very talented driver but he needs to learn to control his emotions and learn how to drive to win over the long haul.

Finally got around to watching today's race. Definitely the most entertaining race of the season. Some expected and unexpected results from this one.

While I don't particularly like the guy, Hamilton showed, again, why he now has 7 WDC. Congrats to him.

I think the next evolution of Max is to gain more patience. When he first got into F1 he was ultra aggressive and I remember all the Crashstappen memes due to him going for every perceived gap. Over the years with experience and patience came wins and consistent podiums. Today it seems he went for that ill advised moved cuz he was stuck for so long behind slower cars that he lost patience, counter that with Lewis who just let people ahead of him pit to move up spots. Max definitely seem to have the pace to win but his impatience finally got the better of him. This maturation process is what I see Charles going through right now with people calling him Lecrash.

The race was 3am for me so I wasn’t all there so I’ll watch it again just for the great action. On a side note, one thing I vividly remember is every few laps it seems like they were showing a replay of Bottas spinning, after 3 or 4 I thought they were showing replays from earlier in the race lol

Not me. When I realized that he was actually thinking about sending it down the inside of that corner...

Watch driver/car language at 0:05. He thinks Perez might give him the inside lane. When Perez cut back across, yep, lost downforce. Also, the controlled spin at 150 mph or whatever? Guy has a weird level of brake, steering, spin control.

Well mate I'm not so sure about that ..
Of course I've watched the incident more than once .
The way how I know MAX and his racecraft , I was more thinking MAX was pushing Perez ( he tried to force Perez in a mistake ) Actually , putting under pressure ..

But...
The picture below shows that MAX was only 2 meters behind Perez in the slipstream , but also in extreme spray ..
Of course he lost all the downforce at that moment and lost it ..
He drove in extreme spray and had zero visibility ! He didn't saw a thing in the spray ...

Perez and MAX . Crazy !

Video link above was taken down. check it out here: https://www.formula1.com/en/video/20...ez_for_P2.html

The moment before it cuts away from Max's onboard he adjusts right prepping to send it down the inside. Perez looked to be leaving a gap but then closed the door. Believe he was pushing Perez to give him that lane, and Perez said "nope." Quite a game of chicken. Enormous stones on both of em.

I saw so many people claiming it was his crew's fault and the forced tire change but I agree with you 100%. I dont understand why so many people defend this guy.

Thank you mate !
But actually the YouTube link works always , when you click on "Watch on YouTube"
We should ask MAX what he really planned
I agree , Perez showed his defence ...

This video works here , and the video of the start with zero grip .

Instead I thought his first stint was really impressive...he was pulling away from the rest of the field at quite a rate. Perez was unable to keep up with him. Apparently he learnt some of his race craft at a track in Canada where cold wet conditions are quite common.
No idea why his car struggled so much later on in the race.
He does have form for good results in the wet.

Too bad indeed...he was owning that race until he picked up whatever caused his front tyres to grain so badly.
