This clearly means MB's insight and extensive R&D re Hybrid PU's is an industry leader and that MB has the ability to multi-function on so many levels.

5 years is an eternity for any manufacturer to produce an F1 engine to a new design...Mercedes put in more resources and produced an innovative design...simples.
Crying and pretending that Mercedes had some sort of advantage or must be cheating to have managed an engine producing an extra ~30 bhp is pretty pathetic.

Mercedes was working on AN engine, not THAT engine (2014 iteration). They probably had dozens of single-cylinder concepts running for every possible contingency. This is Mercedes we are talking about. The article I posted even stated that they guessed the parameters wrong, built a 4 cylinder engine, and a few other challenges before they built the 3 working mules for the 2014 spec engine.

Mercedes didn't cheat. They were simply better and more dedicated in their execution of the regulations. As they have been each and every year since then.

The continuing rhetoric that has now attempted (but won't) to hijack this thread about MB's undisputed dominance and continues to feed the baseless claims of cheating is abhorrent.

This lower level of rationale and choice of appealing to the low-hanging-fruit of rhetoric will most likely continue, thus pointing those that see the brilliance of the most dominant F1 team in F1 history to take a much higher road and proclaim well done to the current F1 champions.

I think a cooling salve may work best. I anticipate many of them have a butt skin section that looks much like this one. I recommend the Boudreaux's Butt Paste of and then a cooling salve.

Merc had been producing winning engines for decades before the hybrid era. I don't see how it's even a little bit surprising that they built a world class engine for new regulations. They'll likely do the same for the next era.

I think it's more that they produced an excellent car than engine. None of their customer teams managed to get close since 2014.
