Our man George has performed well and is P2 on the starting Grid for the Bahrain "Oval" race. Where do you think he will finish?

Its all mostly going to be decided by the order after the first corner...so I've gone P2 but P3 is just as likely as he is starting from the dirty side of the track.

Don't see who can beat Russell , because the rest of field runs in slower cars .
As far as I know , only one man with more racecraft is able to achieve this !
BOT ? Just forget it ! That's a DNF ..
Everything depends from Russell's racecraft !

It's Russell vs MAX !
By Russell's lack of races in the front . My vote is P2 .

It’s going to be really sad / bad for Bottas if he finishes behind Russell and Max.

Just watched the interview with Brundal and RoGro. It took him 5 times of trying to get out of the car. His impetus was his family, especially his kids. It brought a tear to my eyes.

Well done, sir. Well done.

I have a bad feeling of a huge first corner incident. A lot of immature hyper aggressive drivers up front. So I hope I’m wrong, but voted DNF.

Yeah, I also suspect there's more chance than usual of them having a coming together at the front but the optimist in me is gonna say Russell gets by Bot on the first lap & goes on to drive a flawless race with bot & max squabbling for second

I will use an analogy my mother shared when my now ex-wife, was pregnant. Having a baby is a tough thing. People are led to believe that it is easy because everywhere you go, you see a baby. But they aren't easy to have. Each one you see in a miracle in a different way.

This same analogy translates into Formula One. Getting into F1 isn't easy. Racing in Formula One isn't easy. Finishing on the podium isn't easy. Winning in F1 isn't easy. Each race win is special in it's own special way. 190 races for Checo to get his first win. Well done, sir. Well done!!

HAM has actually done himself some harm with his relentless excellence but it showed in this race what happens when the options he provides aren't available. 7ewis would have overridden the decision to make the final pit stop and would have had better tire management, to boot. 7ewis would have won the race. Instead they finish 8th and 9th. 5 points vs 27 points.

Lmao you're actually trying to blame Russell. They offer him a one time ride in the rocket and he's supposed to tell the engineers to f off for the override. Nobody is buying your BS. If they agree with you it's not because of your words.

LOL.

Your post is BS. I don't infer blame. I am contrasting the difference between experience and inexperience.

Sorry you can't see this and understand the actual words I'm using.

You can spin it however you like. It reads like blaming Russell for whatever deficiency versus Hamilton. The variables which killed his race were out of his control.

Sorry you’re a condescending nobody can do good but Hamiltonite.

Awwwwwww. Did you have Grouchy Flakes for breakfast?

You should work on your reading comprehension. I said in the same situation because of experience, strategic calls are available to HAM that are not available to RUS.

Cast your mind back to China 2007. HAM lost the race and the championship to inexperience, not performance. He knew the tires were bad but waited for the pit wall. A more experienced driver may have made a different call.

Go eat some Happy Flakes.

P.S. I'm actually an objective race observer that has been watching F1 longer than you have probably been alive. Now THAT is condescending.

I'm sorry but comparing RUS to HAM as though the latter were even there at all is BS in this case.

RUS drove a brilliant race. Even overlooking the pit stop disaster, he was in a position to win. I really really really want to see that hole in that tire that caused that "slow puncture."

RUS drove a BRILLIANT race and fully deserves the race seat next to HAM. That has been most likely proven. With 3 days notice, he matched BOT and but for a couple of anomalies, he may have won the race. The unknowns, in my view are as follows:

How would he perform on a more traditional track? This track is completely unlike anything on the current schedule.

How much better would RUS have performed in a properly fitted car, properly fitted clothing (boots) and a couple of hundred test laps? I daresay much better and would have been on pole.

How much longer will BOT have the best seat in F1 and not perform to the expected level? Wolff is his manager but this drive will no longer allow him to hide behind Wolff's metaphorical skirt. BOT stock in free-fall.

Lastly, please don't start a conspiracy theory about the tire!!!!

Damn I just finished watching the race as I recorded it...great stuff happy for Perez for sure and Ocon as well...to me the short track and track position (as it’s obviously very hard to follow in an F1 car) along with all the other curveballs that came (three of the quickest drivers/cars HAM, VER, LEC being out if it from the beginning) made the race...RUS drove hard and showed a lot of poise and racecracft (exhibiting how important it is to be decisive, make passes and either run to a pace or make passes) but most of all it showed how fine the line is at the highest level in any sport, more less one where the athlete relies on the team and machine so much... Mercedes team looked like they were starting all over again w/ some of their moves but strategy and those decisions are integral w/ engineering a fast car...obviously they did not need to double pit as those behind had nothing for them but it sure made it that much more interesting, exactly what has been lacking in F1...plenty to celebrate mostly that GRO is alive and well, after that an exciting race... sorry that we missed out on a throw down with the young guns (VER, LEC, RUS) and then the inevitable finishing duel b/w PER and RUS but you can’t have it all
