10 hours looking into your report $25 x10 hours

$250 time
$125 payout

$375 isn't bad by January

Double that because player 2 (wife) did the same, $750 not to bad

Max pay for your time IS for 10 hours @ $25 per hour

10 hours or less requires no documentation, just an explanation from you. 10-20 hours requires documentation.

If you think you're going to get at least the full $125 promised, think again:

Another F U from Equifax. As I said, instead of this settlement nonsense, people should have gone to jail.

I read that to. If the lawyers wouldn’t have taken so much there might have been enough for the people affected by this. The people that are owed even more then the $125 are the people that are really losing out.

When money is the only compensation for gross negligence such as this, it's always expected the victims lose out. The outcome of this is not a shock to me and shouldn't have been for anyone that has any sense of reality on how this was going to play out.

This crap is going to continue until there is some real consequences for those that are charged to protect sensitive data. This means actual prosecutions and jail time. Look at the Capital One breach. At first all the news stories were saying they were hacked. Now it appears, Capital One is looking to be responsible for this as they didn't secure said server properly which contained all the leaked information.

That's what the FTC is telling people to do. Opt in for the credit monitoring service. Apparently, the settlement administrator will be contacting people that have filed a claim for the phantom $125 to give you the option to change your mind. You can pro-actively send an email to the settlement administrator requesting the change too.

Eventhough we were affected north of the border as well, our regulators decided against pursuing any form of compensation in favour of a "compliance agreement"

What the heck does that mean? Is this compliance agreement stating Equifax should have followed the rules in properly protecting PII data in the first place?

"Canada's Privacy Commissioner investigated the issue and found Equifax's response to be "lacking" and the company has agreed to a compliance agreement with the watchdog to ensure the company maintains better security practices moving forward. But no similar compensation fund for Canadian victims has been set up."

You'll have more luck with Andrew Yang. He'll give you $1000/month, no questions asked.
