Is it actually better?. The strip mining for rare earth metals and all that oil needed to make plastic to comfortably float on a magnetic field.

Still like the old school feel of driving. Besides, I "feel" the gravitational feedback every morning I get out of bed.

I like the profile of this new 2er
but dislike how large it looks...

I just want to have at least 1 car in my garage that is fun to drive. I think for me fun = engaging. I know I'll have to give up 6MT someday, no point in them with electric of course. And exhaust roar is going away as well of course. As seems to be the feeling of the texture of the road through the steering wheel. But BMW, or any manufacturer - please at least make me feel like I'm involved with the driving of the car and not just asking it for permission to accelerate, brake or steer. Oh, and also quit making everything bigger. Have at least something in the lineup that is getting lighter weight or at least maintaining its size. Maybe I'll hold off for a new 1-Series once the 2 finally gets too big.

You could always go the classic muscle route for the manual and throaty exhaust. 4-in straight pipes on a L48 side exhaust sound NICE.

Is there any credible info on how long the delay for the 230i xdrive introduction after the initial SOP?

I would assume 1 year after initial introduction based on the 2 series intro.

Some 2 Series info and the SLP Plant in Mexico:

"Even though production begins this summer, first units of the 2 Series will arrive in the United States in November. In comparison, the European markets will have to wait until January 2022."

Many reports say it G42 will be built in Mexico plant, however I've also read that the european version will be built in Leipzig plant in Germany.

Anyone knows if there will be just one factory (Mexico) or both Mexico + Germany?

G42 is Mexico only.

See three posts up:

"The plant will deliver the 2 series for all markets around the globe"

Wow huge boxed flares on the normal 2. I also noticed M bits. Power bulge hood and M mirrors.

I tried to freeze the close up of the back tire size but I could not make it out. Can anyone see the tire size?

Based on the rear tire width and BMW current rim offerings, I believe they are 275/35 R19s

The G87 is either going to use the same body panels for cost cutting or will be SUPER wide.

Most likely the former with more aggressive skirt kits. It does look sharp though.
