Last to know?
So I'm very anal regarding following instructions and I always read my new car's owner's manual cover-to-cover so I don't know how I missed this, but about a month ago I reread a section and noticed a description of a driver's side "glove" box. Headed to the garage and lo and behold there it was. I had never noticed it as it's pretty well (totally) concealed from the driver's seat. My wallet fits perfectly in it and there is no chance of it falling out of the car. Never heard mention of it in any of the internet reviews though I'll listen more closely if I watch any of them again.
Anyway, am I the last owner to learn about this? Come on, I'm pretty sure at least one other owner didn't know about it as they mentioned using the weak-ass door storage for their wallet. Unless they carry a massive billfold I'm sure the driver's glove box would be a better place for something as important as a wallet. |

About a year ago, I found a manual trunk lock switch, for the valet, in my glove box. Finding these minor items feels like you have a brand new car all over again. |

Same here. That cubby has been in 3/4 series BMW cars for a number of generations.

See.. dunno if I'd even use it for my sunglasses. After my PRK surgery, i've become very light sensitive so I can't go outside without my sunglasses anymore. SOon as I leave my house... BLAM they're on. Soon as I leave my office... BLAM they're on my face.

Guess you'll have to buy something to fit in there then.

....hey, I never said I was that bright! Got into the Z4 this morning and remembered this thread; sure enough when I ducked down and looked under the steering wheel, there was the mythical storage door......I opened it and was amazed and delighted at the extra space for my crap! Cheers, Dave |

I pointed out this feature to a friend who owned BMWs for years and didn't know about it until today. It's a great place to put things.
