So where I live they aren't worth the investment to me personally.

We put in impact resistant glass and it had minimal impact on energy. I need to look into better attic insulation.
I don't know if you have basement or not; I spray foamed rim joist and it made a noticeable difference in comfort and $$$.

No basement in FL and concrete block construction so easiest place to seek better insulation is our attic.

I agree with the security cameras. I think it's essential nowadays. You can go for the ones with motion sensor, speak&hear thru the cam and smartphone, like the Arlo pro or the Canary cameras which doesn't look like a camera at first glance. Perfect for minimalist style of homes. And most of all, check their cons too. lol.

Motion Sensors throughout and video cameras in front rear and sides.
Yeah... I'm doing it "correct".

I agree..to each his own. Need to take to good and bad if you post stuff on the internet for comment.

Your backyard design looks fantastic though.

I don't recall "not taking good or bad" with your comment.

I didn't get defensive at all. I simply asked you to show me your house for reference? I mean naturally, if you do make a negative comment, (which you can and did) you too should be prepared for a response. In this case, showing me and all here your particular taste/style on your own house.

The thing about "comments" good or bad... Is, what kind of response are you going to get too?

Congratulations OP. That would cost a few million here in NYC. You get so much house anywhere outside of NY. Love the layout and pool. How about the “ Mancave?”

Thank you! I have friends in NYC and the coast of a home there is bonkers.

Not a "man cave" per say. But a Lounge and dedicated Theater room will get me by.

Interior Design is a hobby of mine. I will update with pics once settled in...

I do really appreciate the time you all have taken to congratulate my family and I on this great blessing!
