2023 LCI WITHOUT Shadowline? (m40i)
Wondering if anyone here has taken delivery of an updated 2023 m40i Z4 LCI without the shadowline package.
It's proving nearly impossible to find a pic of this outside of the configurator which I'm told is definitely not representative of the actual color of the kidney grill trim, etc. I'm told that it's more of a pewter color than a bronze/gold but I have not been able to see it IRL or even decent pics online. Would love to have a forum member post some decent pics and yes, I've scoured the forums with no success. Best pic I could find is linked here, but hoping you guys can provide some better shots. https://www.taylorbmw.com/inventoryp...11199/ip/8.jpg I'm personally getting a bit tired of everything all blacked out and ordered my Z4 with the standard trim on Frozen Grey II. Very excited for this. I know I lose the adaptive headlights, but willing to let that go. Thanks!! Last edited by M4_444; 03-27-2023 at 03:48 PM.. Reason: Spelling error in title corrected |

Go on autotrader or car gurus. There are a bunch posted there, but here's a few:
https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing FWIW, I had the cerium trim on my previous car. It's definitely more pewter and has a matte finish to it. It also loves to show water spots. IMO, the Shadowline package is worth getting just for the adaptive headlights.

I had a ‘23 on order for 8 weeks and no allocation. It was white without shadow line and Cerium wheels. I ended up with something else. I’m not unhappy but would have loved to get what I wanted.

You may very well be right. Having the supplier make the adaptive headlights in both shadowline and non-shadowline variants may have been just too big of an expense. It's no wonder in that case that they went with pairing it with a very popular aesthetic option pack.

They were part of the premium package in years past. This is the first year you have to get shadowline to get them.
When you say two variants, is there an actual difference in the headlight?

From what I understand, the interior of the adaptive headlights are black (and thus part of the "shadowline") whereas the non-adaptives are a different (lighter?) colorway inside.

Ahh, I was not aware of that. But you're probably right. I know they have "Shadowline Lights" as an option on the M3/M4, so makes sense.
