Actually the 330e Touring was confirmed at an invitation only event in Gothenburg today, according to a Swedish forum. They also showed X3M, X4M, X7 and M8.

OK, you made me dig a bit deeper. I did find the 330e Touring, but not as actual cars, just the model data. Expect them some time in 2020, Euro markets only of course.

Along the way, I noticed that the US 330e sedan could actually end up being a bit more powerful than the European one. But that's just a hunch at the moment, no more.

A friend of mine from school works for a tool and for and mold manufacturer that supplies the equipment to make parts to automobile manufacturers and suppliers.

They currently make the tools and moulds for the X5 center console. I was speaking to him this past week and he said they've started bidding on making the equipment for the X8 center console.

ynguldyn, there is a rumor around my local dealer (supposedly from BMWUSA marketing/sales) that the X5 M50i (N63TU3) will not come to the US in MY2020 and that we will keep the regular "50i" from MY2019. Everything else I've heard is contrary to this (including from you). Any update on this? Or should we still expect the M50i?

This rumor is plausible - we've seen US cars being delayed in their transition to the new engines before: F30 LCI became 330i B48 in Europe right away, while in the US there was one year of 328i N20/N26 LCI, and the current EU G30 530i is B48TU, while the US one is still the original B46. In the case of the F30 it was actually a very late decision: the US LCI was supposed to have B48 until maybe a year before introduction. So, even though right now all X5 M50i are MY2020, delaying it for some or all markets would not be unusual at all.

Oh, and one more thing: the N63TU3 training manual explicitly states that N63B44M3 is a transitional engine that will be quickly phased out, so BMW is not even hiding this fact from their US technicians.

I wonder if they are sniffing around a market gap where customers want "the big motor" but not the msport appearance and other associated msport design elements. I feel like it's possible the X5 and X7 400-450hp demo/price points in the USA might be right where that market gap exists

I actually think the X8 render looks pretty good - the proportions seem to be balanced better or something compared to the X7.

Talk about disappointment and huge mistake by Bmw if they don't bring the 530hp motor to the US market

Because of the coupe shape of the X8, I'd doubt that it would have a 3rd row. So whereas the X7 takes ALL extra room and puts it into the 3rd row (the 1st two row dimensions are the same as the G05), hopefully the X8 will add extra room to the 2nd row, making it ultra luxury-length like the 7-series.

The N63B44T3 is definitely going to come to the US.

The question is whether it will be delayed in the US market compared to the ROW release which happens mid next year. But yes, it will indeed be very unfortunate if it happens that way.

The X6 should get the engine from the outset - they are not going to create a US-specific 50i model just for one year. I would bet that the M550i is a lock for this engine in the US next year as well, just as is the plan from ROW. The 750i also gets it for its LCI in March next year. That leaves just the X5 and X7. Would they delay it for one or both of those? Possibly, but for right now, my guess would be that it makes in to everything 5-and-up next year. No guarantees though.

Definitely college grad machine. Especially since the M35i is coming soon. Great entry way into the BMW life

true enough. my daughter drove a used E36 vert in high school and a used E46 Vert in college. If I had unlimited funds I would get her an X2 via European Delivery as a graduation gift when she graduates in 2020 as her first new vehicle.

Definitely. Getting a European delivery is honestly on my bucket list. Fingers crossed Alpina does a B8 gran coupe, I'll be first in line after I hit the lottery to put one on EU delivery

I just had an X2 as a loaner and really didn't think much of it. I wanted to like it but the X1 is better in my opinion If someone is looking for a small BMW "SUV". There is a lot more cargo space in the X1 trunk. The X2 felt cramped. We just had a baby so the wifey wants a BMW "SUV" that sits up a little higher then all the 3 series she's had over years. I would prefer a wagon (don't understand Americans infatuation with SUVs) but whatever.

The availability of Euro delivery is a plus on the X1\X2 for sure.

Do college kids/grads actually drive or are mommy and daddy still the chauffeurs?

Agree on the X1 and it's (lack of )practicality compared to X2. As a matter of fact the X4 is off my list compared to X3 for the same reason. I can't see spending 6-8K more for LESS practicality, particularly when it comes to actually using your SAV to carry something.

Uber/Lyft is the college kid chauffeur of choice.. my kiddo and her friends have literally used Uber/Lyft rather than give up a good campus parking spot.

4 ED... damn... I'm so jelly.. Just one so far for me.

The X8 will NOT have a coupe shape like the X6. It will NOT be a "X7 coupe"! Rather, the X8 will have a sportier/fast roof line profile...sort of like the Range Rover Sport but obviously bigger in size.

I would say more of a larger luxury X2 in which it abondons the Coupe profile, for a sportier more dynamic lower roofed SUV appearance.
