Haven’t found anything about it yet. But the picture is from a z4 because you can reed it on the tray and it’s from the bmw z4 configurator. 🧐🧐

I found this thread interesting, and only recently started playing around with Adaptive mode. I have a 7/22 build Z4 M40i and it does have the Adaptive Button. For grins, I tried using the voice control to change from Comfort mode to Adaptive. It won't do it. A voice response said it could only select Eco Pro, Sport or Sport+.

Take your Z4 on some longer high speed drives using the Adaptive Mode and compare you mpg to the other modes.

This morning I was looking at the "Build Your Own" configurator for the 2023 M235i xDrive Gran Coupe because one of them pulled up next to me at a red light yesterday and thought he was faster than my M40i.

When I selected the Dynamic Damper Control option in the build I noticed a picture of the center console that showed Adaptive alongside the Sport, Comfort and Eco Pro modes. The description states, "Dynamic Damper Control adjusts damping characteristics of the shock absorbers in response to driving conditions and road quality. To create a more stable-feeling ride, the system also takes into consideration vehicle speed and load – passengers and cargo" which is pretty much what Adaptive Mode does in the G29.

Really like adaptive for long high speed runs. 3 plus years using it. Set the destination in nav & in addition to your driving style it also uses satellites to coordinates the cars driving modes to your location (hills, sharp turns, etc.)

Excellent +30MPG at +15mph on the interstate.

Westside Guy - What was the spread against the M235? Not that I would ever think of doing such a reckless thing.

I’m really late to this conversation and not really wanting to read this entire thread, but did adaptive really have that much if an impact to MPG?

Too hard to measure as whatever difference it is is very small. For me its the quality of the ride as the car is in Comfort unless it needs to stiffen up the ride & become more reactive to conditions.

I personally feel that Adaptive added 3-4 mpg on longer highway trips. Needless to say, others might disagree and feel it doesn't have any impact.

The xDrive M235i Gran Coupe starts at $47,600 and unless you select a premium color like Storm Bay Metallic ($1200) or Frozen Pure Grey Metallic($2350) and just select one of the usual suspects for $650 you will price out at about $55k.

2.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder
xDrive, intelligent all-wheel drive
302 HP
33 MPG
4.6 sec 0-60 MPH

Also one consideration for people that love the color, Misano Blue is available in the 2023's!

I’ve seen one of these in the wild. They may be more of a unicorn than the Z4!

Most people looking at this car will select the less powerful 228i Gran Coupe which my wife drives. However you see many more 2 series GC's cars on the road (228i & M235i combined) than our Z4's which are still the true unicorn!

I just read this BMWBLOG review on the 2023 M440i xDrive convertible and that car still has the ADAPTIVE MODE button on the console.

"As with all M-Performance models, the M440i lets you choose between several drive modes to tune the car’s overall feel. These modes are accessed through four buttons on the center console, labeled Sport, Comfort, Eco Pro, and Adaptive. Each mode is distinctive, but after living with the car a bit, I settled on Adaptive with the transmission in Sport mode as my typical setting, to bring the car alive but not in a harsh way. Serenity is the point of cars like this."

4er as launched. Guessing will not survive 3/24 LCI.

Not noticed it, myself (comfort vs adaptive). But then, it depends on the roads, based on what other people have noticed. I find the right pedal movement has the biggest effect…

IMHO, Adaptive did make a difference not only on long highway trips but also when driving on my local streets.

This is probably the reason I use it. A number of people say it improves things in all aspects, so, why not if there’s no detriment? I need to change it in Bimmercode so that it starts in that mode (I assume it can be done?).

I took a ride from Hallandale Beach to Naples and back on Monday. Going to Naples I was in Adaptive Mode the entire way. Returning, I used Eco Mode for about 20 miles (18%) of the trip and switched over to Adaptive the remainder of the ride.

My average speed was 62.7 mph going and 55 mph on the return and I still averaged 35.4 mpg both ways. I really don't believe that using Eco Mode had any effect on my overall mileage.
