Yup, stay safe everyone. I figure I'll turn on the news tonight and there will likely be a clip on there with my dearest prime minister toking away on television.

I bet he just can't wait.

Being a Libertarian I really feel its about time the government step the fuck out of things that really arnt their business. Anyone who wants to smoke pot already does.

Only thing that annoys me is that for some reason while pot will be allowed to be done in public i.e. walking down the street. Drinking is still taboo.

Some Canadian cities have open liquor laws on designated streets.

I kind of agree with you about drinking / pot. Why one and not the other right?

Whereas Vegas, you can walk around with a drink in hand anytime. Which I enjoyed.

I'll still go for a walk with a beer in my neighbourhood (pretty isolated, so not too concerned) and usually my youngest is in the stroller so I just stuff it in the cupholder and doesn't look weird at all.

That will all change. Markham (GTA) has already banned smoking weed in public.

Having one adult tell another they are not allowed to drink a beer in public is assinine. I say educate people, put the age limit where it reaches adult threshold then they out of peoples business. If someone does something stupid while drunk like cause damage then double or even triple the fines.

Nothing is worse then the extreme of alcohol. In moderation or even slight abuse there isnt much harm to society aside from people close to them maybe.

Its stupid to make things like light drugs, alcohol, prostitution etc illegal. It only pushes it into the black market and funds more illegal activity etc. I personally dont smoke pot so could care less if it was legal or not. If I did smoke pot id smoke it regardless of the law (like every other post smoker before today).

I guess you need to draw the line somewhere. All in all I think this is a move in the right direction.

You've seen them? Like what? Please explain. Your Psychiatrist can't make money off cannabis that's why. What a crock of sh*t.

I'd be curious as to hear the bad outcomes of cannabis use. Please elaborate.

I have PTSD and cannabis use was recommended by my therapist....in a very offline sort of way. I no longer use due to my employers drug testing policies but immediately after cessation of my use the nightmares and inability to sleep throughout the night came back.

I agree that people should be allowed to do what ever they want. What I donít agree with is the exposure on young kids. Makes it easier for them to get ahold of pot way to early. As a parent itís my responsibility to teach my child to stay way from drugs and alcohol until they are old enough (if ever) to do it. As with anything this can consume someoneís life and make them less motivated to do anything with their life. I know it varies from person to person on how it affects them and their way of life. It changes the way you see things and not always for the best.

If it helps medically to make your life more manageable the great! But if you do it and it makes your life worse then not so great. People say itís not addicting but it absolutely is to some people. Just like anything else in this world can be addicting and consume someoneís life and distroy it. When compared to other drugs it by far the safest one to do for a number of reasons.

I would like to see a study of every person that wasnít already smoking pot in Canada. See how their life changes personally, work, financial, relationships, family. Not every one will be affected in a negative way but I guarantee that peopleís lifeís will be affected in a negative way.

But smoke away it not my life itís yours.

I am in California, Bay Area. We have had 'Medical' marijuana for years, and legal for recreational use for almost a year now.

I have noticed a major REDUCTION in, shall we say public use. When it was 'medicinal' I would smell weed constantly every time I was in traffic, and see people openly smoking, I notice it MUCH less now. Everyone knows that smoking and driving is against the law.
