Overall satisfaction with the M40i?

Lease running down on my 440 in the late spring. Have been contacted by both the selling dealer & BMWFS inquiring what I would like to do at lease end.

StingRays backorder list wait time is way to long so am looking at something else to lease for the next few years.

Been told the next years 2021 Z4 will go on order status in Feb 2020 which would fit my end date considering I order all my cars & take the BMWPCD in Greer SC.

Am looking at the M40i:

San Francisco Red or Black Sapphire (need to see the red on a local car)
Standard Black Top
Executive Package Black Vernasca Leather with contrast stitching
Premium Package
Park Distance Control
Black High Gloss Trim
19 M Double Spoke Orbit Gray non run flat tires
Performance Center Delivery.
36 Months 10K miles per year
Rate changes for MSD

Was curious to know how many would buy it again?

I have nothing to compare it to since I drove the same truck for 30 yrs. I would say it’s a definite head turner. I bought mine used and save a lot of money. Since it was used I had to get it inspected. The guy at the inspection station had so many questions about the car he loved the look of it. Mine is San Fran red cognac interior. I can only tell you I love the car I would definitely buy it again. I paid 55,000 for the m 40 and love to learn about the car, since there is sooo much to it,rides great, awesome acceleration, and can’t say enough about the leg room, also thrilled about the trunk space. I honestly can’t think of anything that I don’t like

I went from 440 convertible to Z4 M40i and I'm very happy. Similar, but noticeably better, performance, reasonable fuel consumption, great cruiser, and crucially more useable luggage space, roof up or down.

SF red is a great colour and I think probably easier than black to keep clean.

I'll be quite sad if they've stopped making this car when I come to change again in a few years' time.

I don't know what's in the US standard spec and packages but for me the must-have extras are comfort access, wind deflector, seat memory and HUD. Parking assistant is fun but I could live without it.

I have only had my Z4 30i for a month. I would buy it again. I picked the SF red over Black Sapphire. Ivory Vernasca Leather, M package, black wheels, black trim, premium and executive packages. The car is so fun to drive. The car attracts attention. Strangers wave at me and wherever I park someone comes over to make a comment. I don't covet the attention but I can deal with it. My original BMW was a 1970 2002 when I lived in Berlin. I have tried owning other cars but I have failed to like them the way I do a Bimmer.

HUD is part of the Premium package. Comfort access, wind deflector, seat memory are standard on the US M40i.

Park distance is a stand alone option $250USD. Its just the radar thing that beeps & shows clearance lines on the dash screen when you are two close to something.

I think you'll be happy with that spec then. As I said, the full-blown parking assistant isn't essential but I would definitely add parking distance at that price (it's standard on the UK spec).

Agree. With the top up, long nose, ... you will appreciate any meaningful parking aid.

It's a lot of fun to drive. No problems so far, but only had it from Aug 1. It's now hibernating in the garage but can't wait to drive it again this spring. I would definitely buy it again.

Ouch!! Lived in Jersey & drove a 427 3X2 '67 Stingray back & forth Spring Lake to Wall Street every day I was in country. More then once drove home with snow up the wazoo. Had that car for 28 years.

Current COBRA has no roof & Road Course tires so goes out pretty much everyday thats not raining because of not having a roof & above 40 degrees because the tires get slick when cold. Weather in NC is pretty car friendly year round.

Thanks for the input glad you guys are happy with the car. Have already been contacted by the 440 selling dealer in Oregon & BMWFS that I am getting to lease end. They did a pull ahead on my 340 Coupe to sell me the 440 am curious to see what they will do this time.

The two local NC dealers have also already hit my text account saying HI.

That was the reason for my opening post.

It's my supercar! Close to my 50th car, clearly my favorite.
