Comfort Access fix for Mother’s Day?
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com We have three key fobs, the kind that have replaceable 2032 batteries. Batteries are good. All functions on the key fob work except the third fob doesn’t work with Remote Start. I bought it as a spare. Upon touching the door handle on the driver side, there is no response at all from any fob. However, upon touching the door handle on the passenger side, I hear something activating softy, but no door unlock. My next step is to check the 4 fuses associated with the door, but I need to get a long needle nose to avoid disabling the car by not being able to replace pulled fuses https://9apps.ooo/. I’ve heard of door handle electronics going bad. Maybe the driver side is bad and shifting out the pass side? What does this sound like to you? Last edited by lorky; Today at 03:10 AM.. |

Are there any fault codes? If you can lock/unlock with the buttons but not through comfort access with all of the keys, it sounds like the keys may need to be synced/reprogrammed.
I had this happened with a different type of car but it was only a single key fob that stopped working. When it's all of the keys and there are no faults, reprogramming the keys should solve it. To resync the keys, take a look at https://www.pacificbmw.com/manufactu...m-bmw-key-fob/
