I'm all for new and fresh but still think this did it better. Looks more athletic and agile oh and cleaner..... new designs lately are just getting so busy it's sad. Or we're just getting desensitized to classic design and need 1000 lines jetting everywhere to feel satisfied ! And the first z was also raked over the coals for being a less clean design but compared to new cars lately it's an open canvas !

I like it. Want to have one. Wouldn't be surprised if they work a bit on the front until October. Exterior color makes or breaks the car IMHO. There is a video of a matte grey on YouTube that looks great - albeit inside, in a studio, with perfect lighting.
Are these ultrasonic sensor in the front in different colors? One looks silver, the other one black? Did they run out of all black when they were assembling these pre-production (or production?) prototypes? |

My biggest criticism with the Z4 and one that I’m surprised to have not already read, is that the wheelbase appears too short for the design of the car. The front and rear overhands seem to be equal length which looks odd and takes away from the sporty look in my eyes.
I also agree that the previous gen, still looks super fresh even today. |

Looks fat and heavy. Looks like Mercedes too. Blame the regulations. Stupid to make rules strict on low vol cars. Make ugly mass produced cars be safe, these cars dont need this cut off high noses etc.
Interior game is on though. Catching up to Audis, still behind Teslas. Z8 had the look right. Look at it! Perfect. Quote:

I really don't like that front end. It's not terrible looking, it just doesn't look good after BMW showed us the beautiful looking concept last year. The interior looks great though! I'm so happy BMW is doing a better job at integrating the HUD with the dash so that it doesn't look like a tacked on iPad.

Sure one can compare coal mining to mining heavy metals that are used in batteries. While neither are good for mother nature; coal doesn't have to travel to multiple plants and factories before its consumed. The tesla gigafactory just doesn't bring in mined lithium and throw it in a metal box and say "shabam we have a battery." I can't even imagine the distance that mined lithium travels before its processed and ultimately used in a car battery. |

Im simply not digging this new Z4, waiting to see the Supra version. To add my current 2012 E89 Z4 35i M-Sport with the N54 is 6MT So that is going to be hard to let go.

Going to check her out tomorrow. I like the look more than I did a week ago, but the side vents are a little Chrysler Crossfire imo. The black inserts in the front bumper aren’t my cup of tea either.
E85 owners will notice that the car now comes with the side covers for the canvas top, lol |

Hm, Mitsubishi figured out this front end 6 years ago and their hood line was better!
The instrument panel is a total cluster fcuk. What happened with maintaining classic analog gauges? I'm sure the electric steering feedback reaches dead fish levels. Major fail... |

First thing that came to mind - something about the proportions of this car just look off. Doesn't look athletic or pronounced and has wayyyy too many design details going on.
