Glacier Silver and Vernasca Cognac interior
Any love for this combo? This is pretty much what I would get. For those that haven't chosen yet what are you considering and is the choice hard or obvious to you?

I'm considering this combo. I really like it. It reminds me of the aggressive yet classy look of the Indian Scout in smoke gray:

Cognac should go great with silver. I have not seen a single Cognac interior ay a dealer yet. Most interiors are Ivoty and Black - the occasional Magma.
Personally , I have ordered my M40i with SF Red / Cognac.

Our F31 was Glacier Silver and we really liked that for the exterior. I could never go with the white interior...way too many auto show "experiences" with jean-stained seats. Cognac would certainly go well...as would black...and Black Sensatec would save some $$$ and likely wear better than leather....

I haven't seen the cognac in person but in the photos/videos I have seen, it looks like a shade of brown rather than the reddish brown the name would suggest. I've had a Mercedes in Silver/Cognac and loved the combination. I've also owned 2 5ers in Silver/Cinnamon Brown and loved them too. However, the Glacier Silver is not my favorite shade of silver and I don't think it's well suited to the Z4's character and don't believe it looks particularly good in it. Probably why it's not available in combination with M-Sport trim in some markets

I usually buy silver cars, but something about the silver contrasted with the cerium gray didn't look quite right to me (on the M40i). I ended up ordering alpine white with cognac interior - not because I was head over heels for it but because I didn't really like the other options (I love the matte paint, but I have to park outside).

Silver/Cognac Combo
I like it a lot...so much so that i order my M40 in that configuration a month or so ago. Looked at several other combos but this is the one that worked for me.
Finally on a boat on what seems like and endless voyage overseas. |

I test drove a 30i with the Misano Blue and Cognac interior and liked that color combination a lot. So much so that I ordered a M40i with that same combination of colors. I also test drove a silver with black interior M40i and that was very nice too. I can imagine the silver and cognac would be sharp. It's a tough decision but I'm happy with the one I made since I saw it in person.
In my experience, the San Francisco Red is very interesting in the way it looks so different depending on the lighting. It also looks a lot different to me in person versus photos / videos. Furthermore, it takes on different shades depending on the angle you are viewing it from. I certainly like it too. Of course, colors are very subjective and there are so many combinations of exterior and interior to consider. |
