Nice Build! I also went with the red brake calipers. I think it ties in the tail lights and in your case, the interior. Hopefully we'll both have our cars soon. I've been tracking progress on MarineTraffic and I'm already seeing that it's one day behind the schedule I found. This is the painfully slow part. According to my sales guy, I should be getting an update from PCD mid next week, hopefully with a delivery date.

Well, I got my PCD date today and it’s not until 6/29. I think this is more due to the Performance Center being backed up than the processing time to go from the port, through import to prepped to ready to pick up. I may have been able to get it sooner if I just did normal dealership delivery, but I believe its worth the wait for the PCD experience. I’m still going to track it with MarineTraffic because I’m type A.

I was going to reply … Memorial Day, things being backed up, … and not unusual to be at the port for a week for necessary modifications.

I looks like for me the free position updates for the ship have stopped while in transit to Halifax CA. I could spend $0.99 to see the current position, but even I’m not that OCD.

OCD stops when cash is requested.

Apparently, it is now awaiting carrier assignment. That was quick and now the long wait for transport.

Thanks for this chart. Based on your timeline, I might actually receive it mid-June.

Mine was at the port for about 2 weeks awaiting a departing ship. Another 2 weeks for delivery, at least.

I think at this point it’s all going to hinge on shipping availability and if you are doing PCD.

Not doing PCD. Based on your previous thread with the shipping services, I see service TAL is at port 26-27 MAY with a 11 JUN Galveston date. Being it is 21 MAY and knowing typical vessel cut-off dates are 48-72 hours out; I believe it is on its' way to that vessel. Only when it shows it is on the ship will the truth be told; however, they would not ship it to the port to sit for a month as the port would charge high storage fees. At least that's how it is in the US.

That chart you posted was great information, thanks.

Curious, what dealership in Texas? From the time my ship unloaded at Galveston (which was very quick) it took about a week before it was prepped and ready to go at San Antonio.

Hurry up and wait!

Glad to help. The Sirius Highway just docked in Halifax CA, two days behind the schedule I shared. I’ve got plenty of buffer given my pickup date. On the positive side, I was at a local Home Show and an insurance agent offered to give us a competitive quote. When I told him I currently have a 2014 650i, but will be selling it when my Z4 arrives he got really excited and told me that he wanted to buy it. He even had me send photos to his wife who gave him the green light. We’ll see if it all goes through, but if so, this will save me quite a bit of hassle.

That sounds awesome on the private sale. I hope it goes through and saves you plenty of hassle.

Got a lot of hurry up and wait in the service. Doesn't bother me now.

The dealer I got the allocation from is Momentum BMW on the SouthWest side of Houston. It is a Sonic dealership. My normal dealer is Houston North which is an Autonation dealership. The later had no allocations left and told me the factory was not taking orders. They looked all over for a similar one but it appeared the M40 was a rare bird.

Lastly, the Ports of Galveston and Houston do not mess around with offloading. It is a quick process.
