In a wonderful turn of events, I logged into the BMW system this morning fully expecting to see the same "At Port" message I have seen for three weeks. Except that it said "In Transit". Baffled, I called BMW and sure enough, it appears my car did actually make it on Niagara Highway, which left Bremerhaven yesterday.

Actually, the sailing schedule for this ship is just about the shortest possible as it's making only two stops, Southampton and Baltimore before getting to Brunswick on June 15. So, that was a great surprise.

I am a bit unclear as to why the BMW Genius hotline is such a hot mess. I think I called them four times in three weeks and three times I was given totally, wildly inaccurate information. It feels like they just spin a wheel and give you whatever answer the wheel ends up on. If I didn't already know that the Niagara Highway had just left Bremerhaven for Brunswick, I probably wouldn't believe this rep either.

I still have no idea if there really was a delay for the audio module replacement, or if that was just another odd piece of bad info. But it seems to be on the way, which is all that really matters.

Congratulations. I logged into the BMW app this morning as well and it says still at port; however, the Dealer informed me it was on the way and wanted to start the incentives and financing approval. I think the website is not being updated as efficiently as when it is in BMW care, custody, and control.

So as crazy as this idea seemed at the time, if I had been able to get the right location centered and didn't have as much distortion from the curved window, I'm thinking this could have worked! I can't see any two seater convertibles, but there are lots of SUV's.

Give the Genius line a call. They'll have the name of your ship as soon as the status has changed to "In Transit". And then you can lurk on the Maritime shipping sites to track the boat!

Thanks, I called and the line said still at port. Is the factory giving the dealership wrong information?

Were you able to get your tracking to work on the myBMW phone app? I don't see an option there. If i add a vehicle I need to be able to put in a confirmation number that displays on the car. Not production number. Just curious.. i've been checking status just through the myBMW website.

I tried doing the same thing. I was tempted to call the dealer to find out if there was a temporary or admin type passcode and thought, patience, patience... (of which I apparently have none)

I'm using the website. I did place the call and it confirmed the website. I'm toying with checking specifically with the Dealer, but I need to find the time. It seems weird for the car to sit at a port for a month. Guess I'll find out.

Ooooooofff yeah Hope you can get that resolved here soon. I know it'll be hard for me to deal with the same kind of delay due to being down to one car right now.

I have a few things to take car of this morning and then I’m going to go back and look at the other photos. Unfortunately there wasn’t much room to move in the cockpit so I couldn’t get the telephoto extended all the way to 500mm, so I’m not too hopeful. We’ll see...

So I’m pretty sure when my car left the starting port my status changed to in transit. But (and this could be a glitch) when it hit my landing port my status went back to at the port.

It finally changed to in transit again which I’m hoping this time means it’s on a truck and going to the dealership. Anyone know if that’s the case? Hoping so because it will likely be ahead of schedule from my 6/10 quoted dealership day!

One can certainly hope that's the case! Early is always better. Keep us informed! I've always wondered what kind of transit time that it would take once it gets on land.

Heck, I'd like to know which port my car would even be delivered to. East coast or in the Gulf since I'm in San Antonio, TX. I would assume it would take 2-3 days if it were East Coast and had to drive here.

Mid-west and Texas would go to Galveston. Cheaper truck transport to those dealers.
