Considering it's electronic, I'm surprised it even LET you. I have to press the button a few times to put the e-brake on or off while parked! But no.. I can't say I've mistaken the buttons yet. I'm more worried about accidentally turning off the car while driving with the button being where it is.

...no, sadly you are not the only one; I'm thinking they maybe shouldn't have put those two buttons right beside each other!

I did a few times on my previous car, but not yet on my Z4. It’s really annoying when you are pulling into your driveway while trying to put the top up and accidentally pull the parking brake. There needs to be a “DOH!” Emoji.

Boggles my mind that the car would even engage the brake and not give you a warning....
Like.. "NO MF'ER YOU'RE MOVING!!!" Doubt people drift with an electronic emergency brake. Better hope no one is behind you lol. |

since the electronic e-brake is programed like a manual one, the brakes engage. personally, I would rather have the traditional lever.

They are unsightly... but, honestly, me too. I've had an electric e-brake now for the last 13 years and I'm still not entirely used to it.

Yes, I did this once.
The manual says the ebrake can be used to slow/stop the car if the regular brakes fail, so that's why it's enabled while moving. I agree that the ebrake and top control buttons are a little close and feel no different. Charles

Just curious, do people push or pull the button to put the top up (close it)?
For mine, I pull to open and push to close the top. But from the description of the OP, he pull the button to close the top? That is the opposite of what I have. I do agree the electronic hand break at that location can be confusing and can be accidentally triggered if not careful. |

Unless I misunderstood the meaning of Top down/Top up, that sounds like the opposite of what I have.
For my car: Push down the button to put the TOP up (close roof) Pull up the buttom to put the TOP down (open roof) Is everyone the same as mine? Or the opposite?? |

Maybe, its like the steering wheel been on the left or right side of the vehicle. In some countries it works one way and in others, just the opposite.😂😂
In Spain, left side steering wheel, pulling the key to open and pressing it to close the roof.
