WiFi HotSpot
I have the wifi Hotspot in my car and it's working but I have no idea how to subscribe to it. I've had the car almost 45 days and I thought the trial only lasted 30 days. I've never received an email from T-Mobile or BMW about it and there's nothing in the app. Anyone know about this?

I don't understand the point of these. What are you using in your car that needs Wi-Fi? On the off chance that I had something I needed to connect to the internet, I'd just use the hotspot on my phone.

For example, we have a little getaway beach house at the golf of Mexico, 50% of the drive there we have no reception at all, having a hot spot in the car that works would be great for a variety of things, including keeping my wife occupied

I'm not sure if the hotspot will help you though. If you don't have reception on your phone, the hotspot is going to have the same issue. Unless it's a different carrier and their network is better in that area.

A car Hotspot is always more powerful than a phone. I use a tablet app connected to my radar detector and that needs an always on internet connection.

This is all I have and it's not active.
When I Select Activate ESIM it asks for a phone number which I can't get. |

This is odd, trying to activate the E_Sim, enetering the number as listed in my online account, but on T-Mobile website when entering the same number I get the message" Enter the same number as in the BMW app, 3 more tries remaining". It is the same number but does not seem to link up

Does not seem to work as I get an error message that the number in my app and on T-Mobile entered number do not match (They do though).
"My Genius" can't help either and says it's a T-Mobile issue. Calling T-Mobile says it's a BMW app issue...awesome. Anyway, do you know if the service is actually free of charge for a certain period, my dealer thinks it is free for the full 4 years of warranty...hate if nobody at BMW or T-Mobile can actually conform anything accurately.

However, there is more than one way that an esim can be configured. I don't use the Z4's hotspot nor do I plan to. However, if in your shoes, I would try to escalate the call with T-Mobile to an engineer skilled in activating esim devices. I would be sure to explain it's a hotspot device incapable of sending/receiving calls. That detail is likely important in how they activate the hotspot. |
