Continued Z4 Build Discussion so we don't jack another thread

Westside Guy RigaTony1982

Love the discussion, but I really don't wanna jack that thread too much, it's already gotten out of hand haha.

I agree with the gloss black. I did find out that the salon that does my PPF and Ceramic will apply the badges as well, so I'll do that and get the brake vent ones as well. Figure it'll be a little while before I will actually get this car at this rate, so I have time to collect some fundage to do it lol.

I agree that we’ve all been guilty of jacking the other thread and this is a great idea.

I agree with you though, there's no other option on the badging than the gloss black.... just to keep things uniform. Think it'll give it a nice aggressive stance.

I gotta look into those gloss black badges as well. Im also debating the color-matched reflector that IND sells.

Ultimately... I want to replace mirror caps, grill and diffuser with carbon fiber.

Eventually get the splitter and ducktail spoiler. Would love to find some rocker panel skirts and roll bar carbon fiber replacement.

Debating if I want to redo my interior with the Crystal Series (really liked it, honestly).

Few years down the road - replace steering wheel with something more aggressive carbon fiber and leather to match the cognac seats.

Stage 2 tune and replace the ugly gray engine struts with some red ones.

Yes, I looked at those as well, and I might do a change in the near future. They have some great accessories on their website.

Yeah... and whether or not they were able to get past their wife. So far so good, but she's not happy with the price hike of the Z4, but at the same time we are paying off our other car Saturday, so ... just kinda gotta get her on board with the other adjustments slowly.

Just tell her that this is your bucket list car and then ask how can she deprive you of this type of pleasure? 😂

Neither here nor there on the black badges. Would have to see how one looks against the Black Sapphire paint.

The one thing I would like to do is a ///M style 4 stack exhaust system. Would require the exhaust & a new diffuser.

Have seen one G89 Z4, year unknown, with the set. It really looked & sounded good.

I wish that BMW had offered some carbon fiber options for the Z4 like they do on the M cars as I would’ve ordered them. They definitely should’ve given us an interior trim carbon fiber option and also a steering wheel with carbon fiber.

I think the black badges get lost on a black car. I put them on my A5 (which was black) and ended up switching back to the silver rings since I didn't care for it.

Ah yeah, I forgot to mention that I would love to replace the exhaust with that Frequency Intelligence Exhaust system that FiExhaust posted in these forums awhile back. Sounds good without being obnoxious. I played it for my kid (sound only) and he thought it was a Lambo Urus and was SHOCKED to see it was a Z4. I'd love to get the quad ///M carbon fiber tips on it.

Maybe I missed it in the previously jacked thread, but where are people getting the gloss badges? Or are they having existing badges wrapped? I think my ppf/quartz place has been wrapping tesla badges, so I assume they could do these.

Has anyone considered matte black badges, esp on PB?

IND makes them:

Which brings me back to the question, why doesn't BMW simply offer them when you are configuring your car and ordering from the factory?

Thats a good point. I don't even see them on BMW's website on the parts & accessories store. Where do they actually sell them?

You are correct, I also looked for them on the BMW website and could not locate the badges. I wonder if you can go into the parts department of a dealer and place an order?

Spray paint. There's a lot of options.

I had chrome badges on my old (white) car. There was a 'black chrome' spray can option. essentially a bonding primer (clear) and a darker clearcoat. Mors coats gave a dark 'chrome' look.

Or, there's the 'plastidip' spray in a variety of colors. Again, on my old car, I sprayed the XM antenna matte-red.

Same reason why they don't offer the crystal series parts that they do for other vehicles that have the SAME DAMN STUFF. Or... my personal favorite.. .saying you can't get a certain color unless you have a certain trim/package. WTFFFFFF lol

This is true, but these are Z4 badges so it's not like they're on anything else (like the crystal parts).

And yes, I hate the color/trim stuff. That is really annoying.

Yeah. Well one thing is for sure. I'm definitely going to plan on getting those badges and side badges to have it done when I get PPF and ceramic. Should look so good.

You can get them from dealers, like getBMWparts. The Z4 badge and the M40i badge are sold separately.

I like the look but I can't see spending that kind of money (on principal).
