Frozen... red?

Lurker and first time poster. Got my 2020 m40i only a month ago. Im based in Singapore and Im told there is only one frozen orange z4 in the country so needs must, i "invented" the frozen sf red Its not a wrap its a satin finish clear bra / ppf film.

I think it turned out quite well. I have also wrapped the cerulean (silver) parts in fake carbon fibre to see how it looks, thinking whether to shadow line them or carbon them instead, really not sure what to do about the roll bar covers that are the last piece of cerulean silver remaining.

Feedback welcome.

I found part swapping and paint to be the best approach. Limited deconstruction required. The lower front & rollover trim isn't that pricey. I swapped to black. The cerium mirror caps are much more expensive than primed so I bought new parts to paint instead. Pics:https://g29.bimmerpost.com/forums/bp...=view&id=28618
Your car would look nice with the black grill.

Thanks for posting back, I've already got the quotes from the dealership for shadow line / black for everything including the roll covers. I've also had true carbon fibre quoted but I don't think bmw have carbon fibre for the roll covers but yeah carbon is pricey for obvious reasons. Thinking of living with it as above for a little while and then taking a call in a few weeks / months. Really don't like the silver plastic!

I'm talking about the parts you call silver when I say cerium. They're finished in some special way that makes them more expensive. Black badges also available. Had mine for 2 months. FUN car!

Nice bro. How much paid for the wrap?

Perhaps a little too much will explain over Dm if you interested.

I see a dude has done the same product to his black m8 on the 8 series forum, just got a notification about it.

Has anyone here ever removed the roll bars? I am thinking of wrapping mine to black out my car completely, but I heard the roll bar covers have some flimsy clips that can break easily so I haven't tried removing them yet. Thanks

Was told wrap wouldn't stick. My store swapped parts for me.

i tried to have ppf on my cerium mirrors and rollbars to have less fingerprints on them, they did not succeed in wrapping those.

I ended up swapping them for shadowline parts in the end

fantastic! If have white in matte (A lot more understated than yours). It really makes it a nice deep, rich, red.

Nice job!

Oh damn that's pretty. Where'd you get the carbon fiber front pieces?

I'd love to replace brake vent (that black area by the scoop) with carbonfiber too. Same with Roll Bars.

They actually can. I have cerium gray side mirror caps and I had ppf wrapped on those but eventually decided to swap it out for gloss black and have it rewrapped. I'm sure the roll bars can be wrapped, just need to get it off without breaking the cheap plastic clips.
