Let's wait to see what the name ends up being. XM is hitting a few legal walls.
Call it XXXL///M

Why are we trying to reinvent the wheel here? "X8M" works just fine!
My (well) educated guess…

With the current naming strategy, the Swoopy Roof SAV is to Normal Roof SAV:

X2 is to X1
X4 is to X3
X6 is to X5

With this vehicle:

X8/XM/Xwhatever is NOT to X7

Makes sense to avoid implying that it is.

If this thing can run toe to toe with a Raptor or a TRX then it would be cool... I rather leave the on-road fun to cars and my on-road suvs comfortable...

im getting ford explorer vibes from the side view. or a taller dodge magnum. and shouldn't they be doing something a little sportier for an 8 series? something to rival like, lets say the urus?

If they decide to keep those around for another generation, maybe they'll just rename them "M" for consistency?

Just seems crazy to me to have an x6m (and x7-x8) and not the ancient 7-series, particularly when Merc and Audi have had flagship performance models of direct competitors for a while.

Probably Sirius XM as well.

Edit: I completely forgot about that Citroen, looks so cool and quirky!

I was told the colors were limited. If that's not the case I'll definitely be taking a closer look. Good looking out.

There are two Alpina exclusive colors, but it's not limited to them.

Personally I prefer the M760 over the B7 because, well, V12; one of the best sounding ones at that.

i had an X7 (or X6?) behind me yesterday in traffic - i totally understand the 'bugs bunny' look now. it's not a refined look - just looks like a buck-toothed rabbit (without the inherent cuteness of said bunny)

My understanding is that the trademark applications were rejected due to "likely confusion" with some Michelin tires and vehicles from a US Aviation GSE manufacturer. PSA abandoned their IP rights 25 years ago.
