360 camera, or a front camera at minimum. The front sonar/parkmatic isn't always enough to detect curbs.

Low profile front stone guard/mud flap option. The body style and front tire configuration throws rocks at the doors. Road rash will ensue eventually. There is one option I've seen in another thread.

Better adjustability of the shoulder belt as they can cut into the neck if you are not 6' 2" or taller or wear collared shirts. This point has been a challenge in other Z generations.
The mounts/guides either broke (Z3) or were just high enough (E89).

IMO: the g29 cupholders are the best of the E85 and E89 generations. It won't hold your mega Stanley, but will hold a large coffee or basic water bottle.

My favorite (pre-prescription) sunglass lens of all time was the Serengeti "Sedona" (originally "Vermillion") lens.
I feel for you. I was in your boat until I had Lasik done about 20 years ago. I remember those prescriptions for progressives with a lot of astigmatism. If a lens is a 1/2 mm out of position you go crazy. Had more than one pair remade.

Then about 2 years ago I developed cataracts, so back to glasses until I had cataract surgery. At least almost all the astigmatism is gone. Now I just need readers. In searching, I found the local Lenscrafters sells Oakley prescription sunglasses (both polarized and not). Their prescription frames and lenses are a bit more limited in styles and lens colors than their general sunglass line which has a lot of sport specific lenses.

Do they make prescription glasses?
I bought some non-polarized from Zenni optical (I have a few pairs of prescriptions from them). They are cheap, but not so cheap that they are rubbish. Some styles don't work well with my progressive prescription, but good enough.

As for the HUD, I have to thank another thread in this forum, Oakley's have at least one non-polarized pair of sunglasses that works perfect with the HUD. I keep the Maui Jim's for the X5 and Oakley's for the Z4. If I hadn't read that thread first I would have been quite annoyed at why I couldn't see my HUD!

I looked at Oakley and liked the gradient amber photochromic glass lens in the Serengeti frame which was also non polarized better. It was more to my liking style wise and covered my driving needs. Also it is a navigator style metal frame which really protects my eyes when the top is down.

It is normally $260 but shows as sold out on the Serengeti site. They also have a link on their website where you can custom order prescription lenses.

I was able to order it with a substantial discount on the Otticanet site for only $153.85 (they have a 15% discount code on the item that I used)

These are the glasses that I have used for a couple years for flying and driving. they are non-polarized and awesome in most all driving conditions, furthermore they are good for over 200 mph....

If you are looking for non-prescription sunglasses that are not polarized, one source is to look to pilot supplies stores. There are several to be found searching for pilot or aviation sunglasses. I've dealt with mypilotstore.com in the past. They offer Vedalo Sunglasses, Serengeti Sunglasses and Scheyden Sunglasses. The only issue is that several styles are out of stock.

I've had a pair of VedaloHD sunglasses for about 12 years and really like them. The models have changes slightly over the years, but basic "stritanium" frame design is the same. It's a titanium alloy with spring hinges that have no screws or pins. They're almost indestructible and they weight about 1/2 oz. Their copper rose lens is very similar to my old Serengeti glasses, but they are much lighter (in weight, not transmission.)

Same. No issues here with multiple polarized sunglasses in the Z4 w/ HUD. Didn't even need to rotate it at all.

However, I can't pull it off in my wife's 5 series with the HUD. Completely invisible.

Seems angles might not be too forgiving.

That was exactly what I did in my search for a good pair of non polarized sunglasses as pilots have the same issue with reading their instruments as we do with the HUD. I drove over to the Airport Pilot Shop at the Naples airport and tried on several non polarized brands and frame styles.

In my opinion, the Serengeti "Mineral glass" in the amber color gradient and photochromic was amazing to look through in sunlight and worked in perfect harmony with the HUD. I also liked the quality of their frames over some of the other brands as they are a premium line. Serengeti has other styles with the same amber color, photochromic non polarized glass including some aviator looks which others might prefer.

As mentioned earlier I personally liked the navigator shape of the Spello frame (model #8800) as it gives me more protection from the wind when driving with the top down.

It is really difficult to clearly see the HUD in my Z4 wearing my Maui Jim’s which are polarized. My friend has the same problem with the HUD in his 2023 M240i so I don’t know how you are able to see your HUD with polarized glasses and not rotating it without any issues.

Back to the original topic: I'd put the electric parking brake control some place where it isn't likely to be confused with the roof control. Don't ask me why ;-)

Yep. That’s made for a few exciting moments pulling down my driveway as I put the top up…

I carry Maui Jim’s and non-polarized Ray Bans. If it’s bright out, and I don’t care to see the HUD, MJ’s. If it’s not or need to see HUD, I switch to the RB’s.

Because of the limitations in BMW's HUD which prevented me from wearing my Maui Jim's I recently purchased a pair of non polarized "Drivers" sunglasses from Serengeti (now owned by Bolle). They have an amber color gradient photochromic glass lens and in my opinion they are just as good as my original Serengeti "Drivers" that were made back in the day by Corning Glass and considered among the best "Drivers" type sunglasses ever sold. I found a great deal online where the merchant shipped the sunglasses to me direct from their factory in Italy at a great price with free shipping. The MSRP from Serengeti was $260 and I paid only $159.80. The quality of the lenses and frame is top notch and they are a pleasure to wear.

If anyone is interested I will give the details.
Yes pls.
Will he ship to Belgium?

Here is the link to their website. I don't know if they ship internationally and you will have to inquire. Serengeti who is owned by Bolle Brands has a large line of frames and lenses and is sold worldwide. Their Mineral glass lenses are made at a factory in Italy so you may find an online merchant there that might be better suited for your needs.

Edited to add the link for Serengeti's French site.
