No way in heck I landed in the 34% bracket for time driven, if that’s true then a lot of garage queens out there……though the CPO I purchased had only 11.5k miles driven in 3 years! I took possession in late Sept of this past year.

And again can I say how great the B58 motor is? Low 12 1/4 mile and over 31mpg since purchase. That is darn impressive without any cylinder deactivation stuff going on. Indeed What a Ride!

Go into My Trips section. On my app it is the bottom most option under “Reviews”.

The sound is great in Sports+ BUT around here there are a lot of 45mphish roads. Leaving in sports+ hangs onto a gear (think it’s 4th?) and the car will just stay revving at 4k down the road at part throttle. I usually have to tap the upshit paddle to get to a better cruising gear with Revs down around 2-2500. Gas mileage drops by at least 8-10 mpg tooling around in Sports+

I tend to use Sport Individual with the SPORTS transmission setting. Gives a little bit more sound and sportier driving dynamics with 2-4mpg less fuel economy but the transmission won’t hold that gear in the 45-50mph range that trashes fuel economy uselessly.

To all interested, listen to my advice as I’m in the top 15% of all M40i drivers for fuel efficiency lol

I use Comfort/Adaptive most often, when wanting to show off or excersise the exhaust flap, tap sports button for some of the drive

We need to enjoy it while we can. I can recall times not long ago when the V8 (or better) was the king of exhaust note and a straight six was frowned upon. Now the straight six is king and the 4 cylinder is frowned upon. It's just a matter of time . . .

For real... I average about 25-26 MPG. The whole reason why I upgraded to the M40i was for the great sound of the car. IMO, it sounds better than the M3 Comp. At least the one that I drove during the M Town Tour. Just yesterday I picked up my kid from school in the Z4 and I hit the gas to get on the freeway and the acceleration surprised me lol! Even I was pushed back into my seat.

Somehow I doubt you will ever want to tune yours. You have yet to see power from the B58. You can easily push 500wtrq and 430+whp with a simple tune and no exhaust mods or other hardware

lol I DO want to Tune it. Was thinking of going for a stage 2 tune... already got a guy. :P I will likely do it either after the warranty or after I finish paying it off.

I think that you should confess that the reason was more than just the sound. I think you really wanted the additional HP and torque. 🤪

The difference between men and boys is the price of their toys! 👍🏻

Full ECU unlock? Heard it requires a trip to Europe to accomplish.

JB4 can be piggybacked to increase boost without much fuss though.

Guy that I know here in Texas (20 year BMW vet) uses DME for the unlock.

It was more than just the sound... I really wanted to stop having to say it's the 4 cylinder. I wanted the personal feeling of knowing that I got the M performance trim. I wanted to see the ///M40i on all the things. I can't really use the speed and torque to its full advantage, though it never ceases to surprise me when I give the pedal a little extra push.

We are way off topic. lol

Forget about a little extra push. Put your M40i in Sport Plus and really press down hard on the accelerator and hold it when you are passing a car on the highway. 🤪

It's the best feeling! Especially that little split second tail-wag before the stability control kicks in.
