No M-seatbelts for the US. See also here. It is a 400 CAD option for the MT and AT (in the Canadian configurator). 310 EU in most European countries. The option code is 4GQ.

Congrats!!! Absolutely beautiful.
I really love that green, almost makes me regret my Thrundernight Metallic which I love love love, but I would never get a manual so I won't get the color anyway. Sad.
Enjoy!!! It's an amazing car and cop magnet!

But yeah that whole saga with the headlights is on the dealer. A cursory read of the ordering guide would tell you the adaptive headlights are on the "Shadowline package" and not on the "extended Shadowline trim".
Seems like it needs a DETAILED read of the ordering guide, not just cursory. Thats trap set waiting for its first victim.

Just to add to the auto/manual consideration - spent Friday afternoon at the Performance Center. All the cars we drove were automatic. Loved that, made it easier to drive fast in that environment. I am certain our times would have been substantially slower with manuals.
Having said that, I am still glad my order is for the manual.
On another note, at another event I saw the Z4 manual prototype that has been floating around. The Frozen green looks great but I am not a fan of the Cognac seats with the black piping. And weirdly, there was no cover on the folded top. Just fabric and gaps.

There’s no cover on this car when the top is folded.

-Had about a good hour of driving today after pickup. Got to push the car a little bit, however kept RPM below ~5K for the time being until I put on a couple hundred km.

-Spent most of the time driving in Sport+ with MDM/limited traction control

-Never driven a G29 before today so can't help compare differences between AT and 6MT suspension changes.

-The 6MT + B58 go really well together, great powerband down low + decent gearing, and great sound. Probably the highlight for me.

-"improved" 6MT feels good to me, I only have the f87 as a fairly recent reference point and I think it does feel better, 1-2 is shorter and more precise, 2-3 is great too, oddly 3-4 felt vague a few times.
-Overall a good experience for a manual transmission but don't expect VAG/Porsche feel.

-Clutch is much lighter feeling than a G87

-suspension/handling was a bit of a let down for me as I found it too soft for my driving style. In Sport+ it's not all that stiff.

-found the car to have too much body roll and understeer for my liking when pushing it in faster sweeping corners

-Perhaps coilovers and upgraded sway bars might be the answer for my taste

-steering wasn't overly heavy even in Sport+ which is a good thing as BMW tends to overdo it with artificial heavy weighted steering feel, especially in sport modes

-was impressed with how little wind/noise come into the cabin with the top down. Definitely one of the more comfortable convertible experiences

-overall very comfortable car with great ergonomics/seating position that lets you get really low in the car and shifter nicely within reach

Admittedly need to put more mileage on however, get more used to it, and let the car break in a bit

Awesome review!

I agree that it's not very stiff in sport+ but I think I would do control arms (for more camber) in front and roll bar to make it feel sharper then if it's still not enough, coilovers

Surprised about the body roll and lack of stiffness in sport+ chassis, as I was under the impression BMW fixed this with the suspension and anti-roll bar improvements. It’s not a hard thing to fix for BMW- I did it simply with an affordable set of ACS springs. (Of course, compared to the G8x M lineup it will be less ‘on rails’ given chassis limitations… but that’s probably a good thing for the roadster.)

Thanks for the review! More interior pics would be great if you get the chance.

Great pictures and the color looks amazing!

The break-in period recommended by BMW is 2000km and 4500 rpm, will you be able to resist temptation and wait?

Thanks for the review, congratulations on the purchase, it only gets better from here as you work through break-in!

I always follow the break in directions but know plenty who don’t. Does it really matter?

Maybe I am old school but I am a firm believer in the “better safe than sorry” approach. 😉

Honestly it matters even more today than it used to as engine tolerances have become much tighter! Break in matters a lot of a clutch too, especially the first six hundred miles, depress the pedal gently, no rapid clutching, you need to allow that wear surface to bed in evenly.

Congrats on the car and thanks for the review!

That said, the MT box doesn't sound all that great. I've driven my friend's 991.1's MT a few times and it didn't feel as good as the one in the S2000, and this seems to be another notch down. Can't have everything. Still looking forward to having an inline-6.

Thanks for the review but this is a big concern as i felt the clutch in the G87 was very light and artificial and thats the reason i had cancelled my M4 allocation

Is rev match available on all modes?

Life is full of compromises lol. Best manual I’ve owned was a 2013 Miata, but it was packing 170hp of heat…..quick revving engine with short gears meant lots of driver engagement but slow speeds.

Only the NFC one (where you have to tap the door handle and place the phone in the center console). The UWB one (that works like a fob) is not supported on ID7 vehicles.

Same goes for supported Android phones.

The S2000 transmission is widely considered the benchmark and we knew this was never gonna be that. I don't see a big overall variance between 911 transmissions and modern BMW transmissions. They don't feel the same, but I don't see one as better or worse, just different.
