Is this a front license plate bracket?

Just bought a preowned 22 and since I live in a state that needs two plates, front and back ,I asked the salesman for a front license bracket to mount before I took delivery. He left a couple days before I took delivery and I assumed he didn’t follow up on my request. I saw this sitting in the trunk is this a front license plate bracket?

Looks like it, yeah. Try lining it up in the front to see if it sits flush.

There are front license plate holders that don’t require drilling so if you don’t have any holes yet you may wish to consider this approach.

If you do a search in this forum you will find a few posts regarding this. 😉

They tend look worse while on though. Gotta weigh the pros and cons.

This is my sto n sho bracket. I don't think it looks too bad though I've never actually mounted the plate since installing the bracket. I would recommend this only to someone who occasionally needs to mount their plate because this bracket uses existing screws that connect the front of the plastic engine panel to the bottom of the bumper cover. It is secure but not extremely secure.

Wow, I'll be forking over something like 6 or 7% for sales tax.

I use the same one as StanDiego. Easy to install and I have never had an issue with it. https://stonsho.com/collections/bmw-z

I've used US Millworks steel plate mounts that utilize the front tow hook mounting holes; formerly on the 230i xDrive and now on our '15 MINI Roadster S and '23 x3 M40i. They are very robust.

Yes...it is an offset mount and certainly not symmetrical but they are a solid mount that avoids the drilled bumper cover issue if that's a consideration for you. The multiple mounting configurations allow you to avoid covering any front camera sensors. www.usmillworks.com.

Well..I checked with U.S. Millworks...unfortunately, they do not have a custom mount post for the G29 and indicated they don't plan on making one available. Guess with end of production already announced for Mar 2026; and limited number of z4's, that's not too unexpected. I'll need to source something else should I pull the trigger on a G29...that Mar 2026 date makes it a serious consideration for me!
