San Remo Green available for M40i MT

Hello,

My dealer informed me that they can arrange a manual transmission in San Remo green. I have scheduled a meeting with them tomorrow to explore additional options that might become available.

Can you see this color and the 6MT listed on the "Build Your own" section of Belgium's BMW website?

No, not yet. However, a few days ago, I inquired with my dealer about the possibility of getting a manual transmission. Today, they contacted me to schedule a meeting for tomorrow to customize the car's specifications. It seems like the configurator might be available to them but not yet to the public. I'll keep you updated.

The (public available) configurator does not yet show the MT but the visualiser does. Notice the different layout of the buttons (rooftop, traction control, iDrive…) around the transmission area.

I received by email a preliminary quote for a full option and I noticed some interesting things :

P0C4E Sanremo Green

S07XV Pure Impulse Pack 6.100 € including :
S02MA Manual Transmission
S03M2 M Sport brakes Red
S07M9 M Shadow Line

S01R8 Alu styling 800 M 19"/20" (bicolor Jetblack)

The CO2 emissions increased significantly from 183g/km for the Automatic vs 197g/km for the MT. This makes a real difference in taxes in my country and I do not know why this increase. We also have the sDrive 20i in some markets with a auto and manual and the emission difference is only 2g/km.

I hope to share more details tomorrow.

Hopefully the shift knob feels better in the hand than it looks. Still praying for carbon fiber also...

CF would be a nice option for both the automatic and the 6MT.

Wow very impressive intesting! I’m wondering how that shifter is going to feel, IMO the dimensions seem off, shifter is too far forward……or maybe I have my seat too far back 😂

I think moving the top button makes a lot of sense.

I’m pretty certain this fits. The BMW website is weird with some of this stuff, but as far as I can tell it should fit.

My dealer provided a new update this morning...

He configured my car with the same specifications, but this time with an automatic transmission. The S01R8 Alu styling 800 M 19"/20" wheels (bicolor Jetblack) are still included. This indicates that the staggered wheel setup is also available for the non-manual transmission M40i as an optional extra (while it's included in the MT Pure Impulse pack).

In this scenario, the price difference for the same car (except MT vs AT) is just 2600 €.

The color of the green looks very dark all over the car, except a small area around the headlight where it becomes almost iridescent. I really wonder what it will look like in real life.

I have to say I kind of like it….i think.

Would not surprise me in the least about some of these changes being optional on the automatic.

The appearance of San Remo in real life may differ from what is seen in the BMW visualizer. Additionally, this is the metallic version of San Remo. The upcoming model year will include a matte version of San Remo as well.

I am intrigued by the nearly matte black finish on the A pillar.

Some more picture from the visualizer :

Thanks for sharing. Definitely a color to see in real life first I think. It’s seems to have so many different shades depending on the light. But of course that is just from pictures.

The frozen version will also be interesting although I personally am scared of the extra care required by matt paint.

The A pillar looks strange in a matte black finish and I don't love the look.

Also I thought that the 6MT in San Remo Green was supposed to have gloss black badges.

Obviously not the same as IRL, but even with video recording and desktop variances this vid has helped me ‘visualize’ (hah….sorry, I’ve got lame jokes), the differences with lighting.

It's a really nice green. There's someone who lives around me that has an 4 series gran coupe in this color. Always catches my eye when I see it.

Try useful, thanks very much. Based on that I like the look of the color in direct sunlight.

As sad as I was that IoM wasn’t the green being brought to the table, I’ve been diving down the rabbit hole looking at all things San Remo, and it’s grown on me. I still need to email our CA so he knows to contact us when they get any car or suv in stock so I can see it in person, (versus relying solely on their showroom color lego samples), but I’m much more open to the idea of it lately.

E; woot, he’s got a stock-unit i4 in SanRemo scheduled for delivery towards the end of next week, so we should be able to swing by to see the color in person, (albeit on an i4, but still helpful).

Has anyone else made the visualizer work? I'm in the US, so perhaps that's killing it, but I can't get any Z4 at all. Regardless if it's the US site, a .UK or other site, or what country I select within them I get options for 1 through 8 series plus X, but no Z.

Not a big deal but would be fun to check out if possible.'

I think I'm pulling up the "individual color" options so I'm almost certain that's why (no possibility of it for the Z4's right now). I don't see any other visualizers though....

I went to my dealer today and found out a few things, although there wasn’t much new information beyond what I’ve already mentioned in this thread:

• There are only two new color options: San Remo Green, available in both metallic and matte finishes.
• A staggered wheel setup is offered for both automatic and manual transmissions, featuring 19” front and 20” rear M style 800 wheels.
• The Manual Transmission is part of the Pure Impulse Pack, which comes also with shadow line and red brake calipers. However, it’s not clear from the current information if this pack includes other options or differences.
• The visualizer isn’t fully updated yet with all the recent changes, so the actual badges on the rear and sides may vary, along with other potential modifications.
• The car can be ordered today and I got a delivery estimate of mid May 2024.

In person (on a m440i), I noticed that the San Remo color appears much darker and less vibrant than it does in the visualizer.
