Yes.... INDIRECT has much more flexibility. Still use VLOOKUP if I know it's a finite 1:1 and need a quick and dirty pull-in.

Best rule of thumb is to be able to rest your wrists on top of the wheel comfortable with a slight bend in the elbows while shoulders are snug in the seat. This will give you the best control and leverage. Seat back should be as upright as comfortably possible while maintaining helmet clearance.
