Oil Change

My 2019 Z4 was built in March 2019. I took ownership in November 2019. I currently have 678 miles on the car. IDrive tells me I should get an oil change in March 2020 (one year). Are oil changes based on time or mileage? I searched but could not find an answer. Thank you!

10,000 miles. If you own it and intend on keeping it. 5000 miles. Dealer takes care of it every 10,000 miles. And thats about all they do anymore.

It used to one once per calendar year or 15k miles then I guess it switched to once per calendar year or 10k miles.

On my rarely driven cars, I do it once per calendar year. On my normally driven bmw, I do it at 7500, which is about 6 months for me.

I am pretty sure BMW still stick to 10k miles or 12 months - whichever comes first.
