But I chickened out and didn't do it and just kept my 135i convertible. I have mixed feelings because if I bought the same car now I would be getting screwed. But then again working from home I wouldn't be driving it much so I would have a $70k car just sitting there most of the time.

I have been pondering trading my 440i xDrive for a Z4 or M2. The 440i is a great car, but I miss the RWD on my previous 335i. I test drove a Z4 sDrive 3.0 and the M2 and both were a blast! The M2 is a beast, light, responsive, just plain wow! However, the Z4 is a convertible. The 3.0 version I drove handled really superior, power was very good but wasn't awesome (especially compared to the M2). Looks like the Z4 M40i closes the gap (too bad it was not a manual). This would be my daily, but working from home I just drive couple days week, 5K annually. No kids at home anymore. Seems you are pretty high on the vehicle to have two, what is the single most striking thing about the Z4 that makes you trade in your rare 135is manual to get this???

It's an Automatic, xDrive, was seeking a Manual at the time my 335i was totaled, the 6-speeds are rare. Came across this Smoked Topaz Individual beauty. I really like the car, yet in two years have used the rear seat once. Job changed to an at home position, so I drive a LOT less. Seems to make sence to have more of a "Sports Car" than a comfortable daily driver. If I need to use back seat again, can use the Wife's Land Rover. Drove a sDrive 3.0 and really liked it, just wanted little more power that the 2.0L offered.

I received the inspection report from Lemon Squad.
Overall, the vehicle was as the dealer presented with these exceptions: 1. Warning on the display to replace battery, probably from sitting unused for the past few months. Dealer was going to recharge, if that doesn't correct the problem, off to BMW to be checked. 2. Some minor paint missing on fascia, dealer is to fix this. See pix. 3. Mark on driver door panel, hard for to tell from pix. 4. Tires have an average of 7/32 tread. This is the only thing that really concerns me. As the vehicle only has 115 mi., why so much wear? Could be the wheels/tires were swapped out or the car was tracked. Haven't spoken to the dealer about this as yet. Will push for a new set of tires, we'll see. Copy of the report attached and also pix. of the fascia. Last edited by atmer; 12-02-2021 at 08:44 AM.. |

I am still trying to figure out why this car wasn't kept in a BMW dealer's inventory and sold as new so I called my salesman at my local dealer. He confirmed to me that if it has under 300 miles it is still considered a new car and his dealership would be selling it as such with the full warranty coverage included. |

Some are like 40mpg, you're sitting at 18-20.. I'm usually in the middle at 26-29. Mostly due to traffic or idling. I've gotten upwards of 35 mpg but that was really babying the throttle and rarely (if ever) going into sports plus mode.

If I try, I can get in the low to mid 20’s around town, but what fun is that? I’ve also gotten close to 35mpg on the hwy.

Turns out the inspector measured the edge tread. The salesperson measured the tread on the flat area of the tires and sent me the videos, all four were at 9/32”. If he were able to reach the center tread I’m sure the measurement would have been the full depth of 10/32” of a new MPSS. They will repair the paint on the fascia and replace the battery if needed. I have to say they have totally upfront and most willing to address any of my concerns. |

That's good and it does sound like they are accommodating.
Going to pull the trigger? Charles

Anyhow, your car looks great, beautiful color. We wanted white originally but when we found this vehicle online figured the GS was close enough. |

I'm trying to get them to use covered transport for the delivery without having to pay anything additional. If not, hopefully they can time the delivery between snowstorms. |

The next question is whether you plan to put either PPF, ceramic coating or both on your new baby?
