Z4 M40i into Hibernation

Always a sad day then they go into hibernation for me. I always put my car up in the winter. It could be much worse. We share her X3 M40i
The last few years it's typically been for four months, from mid Nov until mid March. Full tank of gas, five extra pounds of air in the tires. fresh wash and wax, plug in the C-Tek to the under hood terminal, put on the cover and that's it. Fortunately for my baby my garage is heated and insulated. I keep it at 50 degrees through the winter months. Been using this process for years without a single issue four months later. Used to do Sta Bil in the tank but not in recent years. We certainly have enjoyed the past 2 1/2 months and 5300 miles. Looking forward to a full season in 2022. Not one regret saying good bye to the M550 and hello to the Z4!

It looks like you covered everything with your check list. I would not of thought to add extra pressure to the tires.

By the way, I love how you have decorated the wall.

Good luck with the withdrawls. I'll be thinking of ya as I drive topless until January. But such is the trade off down South. You can laugh in the summer when it's 100+ down here.

It isn’t fair to make fun of our Northern friends.

Remember the UV light inside, before you close it. Just in case there are any virus around. 😂😂

Putting a car away for 4 months a year? Who woodaa thought.

Seriously, I have never put a car away for the winter even when I lived in New Jersey. Just swapped on snow tires.

Carolina is a great place for cars, friendly automobile laws starting with no front plate, good roads, year round good weather.

Different stokes for different folks. Mind you, when I needed an everyday car for work I drove them all winter, including two CTS-V's, the last one 556 HP and both RWD. Snows all the way around and out I went. 2012 X1 35ix M Sport too, but when there's a X3 also in the garage and we are both retired, no sense driving both.

Live in the Colorado mountains. Drove my M40i to theater tonight (nice night, 40s temp) and can't imagine hibernating it for the winter.

Yeah, thing has no roof. It does have a Tonneau Cover that will keep the heat inside pretty well.

Limiting weather beside rain/snow is temperature. Car is comfortable with proper clothing, B2 leather jacket over a hoodie at 40*F & the heater on.

The NT01 tires start to go away at that point & lose traction the colder it gets. Very low temperatures 20's can damage the tires themselves.

Put her to sleep in NH last week after two hours of cleaning and adding Polish Angel.
