How old are you?
I turned 72 in May and will be taking delivery of my M40i on July 12th at the BMW Performance Center. Thought it would be fun to learn the average age of those currently owning a new Z4 or planning to own a new Z4.

I'm 45. Age behind the wheel of the Z4 M40i: 9?
Well, perhaps it is more like 19. |

86 but much younger behind the wheel. Getting in and out helps keep me limber and driving a sports car keeps me alert. This is probably my last go around with a roadster though.

I'm sure it attracts well below the 24 age bracket as well. The issue arises that me and the 24 yo are outliers (24 more than I) because most people in their 20s can't afford a $50-75k vehicle.

I've saved a lot from a young age, but I'm also definitely very lucky to be able to buy a car like this at my age!

I dont know that theres an age at which driving a really fast go cart isnt fun.
I generally let all sorts and ages of people drive them just to see them giggle as they throw it around. Too many people (significantly) underestimate how much fun there "could be" in a commute. |

While luck may play a little part of it, I think it's money management that has enabled you to get an expensive car at a young age. You don't have to make $100k a year to afford this car. It may not be the smartest move to buy this car when making $50k a year, but it's entirely feasible if money is managed properly. I got my first BMW ('17 m240i) when I was 25. Everyone asked me how I afforded a car like that as an E3 in the military. I looked at them and said I don't spend $200 a week on beer and alcohol, nor do I eat out multiple times a week. I enjoy cars so that's where I've always spent my money. Save, purchase, enjoy, repeat.

So much this! I would do the same thing and then rev the engine as loud as I could while my mom lectured me about how bad of a purchase that was blah blah blah

my parents/relatives have said that cars are not an investment blah blah blah. and I've said. Ive made increasingly more money and it's probably because I invested in motivation. I like cars and it makes you climb the ladder to get money. cars , are a responsible and great investment if you can afford them and want them |
