M40i aftermarket parts

I notice there is a shortage of aftermarket parts for this car , dont get much choice. First things i change is exhaust tips, weighted shifter knobs, floor mats, trunk mats, emblems and checked reputed shops like IND, Supreme power , extreme power etc and they dont have it , even simple things like all season floor mats, trunk mats they dont carry

Whats the issue here?

Something like 1500 a year sold in the US is probably the main reason. And within that group, the idea that it's not a tuner crowd probably has more than a little merit.

You probably know that a lot's shared with the Supra, so what bolts on for them has a high chance of bolting on for us.

I'm eyeing the braces that connect the strut towers to just above the radiator, we'll already have them but they're kind of ugly. Also a CDV delete but will have to get some seat time first to be sure. Just going to have to see after that, hopefully it's a good enough car out of the box I don't feel the need to change too much.

you have to look a little, but there is stuff out there

Some stuff you can borrow from other bmw models, or from the supra.

BMW sells all season floormats
trunk mats you can find at the usual chinese floor mat manufacturers.
Same for emblems (chinese), or originals can be found at the dealer.
I don't know about the shift knobs since i have an AT, but it's probably the same as in the f40.

It depends on what your trying to modify. Large portion of the exterior of the car is bespoke to the z4. 99% of the underpinnings for the Supra fit the z4, and a decent amount of g20 and other G platform parts work on this car as well.

All of the performance parts I have on my car were “designed” for the Supra.

I have the same problem with my M240i, something you probably don’t experience as much with your M2C. I agree that the low production volume and the buyer demographics don’t support a lot of aftermarket R&D for this car (other than parts that fit both the Z and the Supra). I did get some power and other upgrades from Dinan.

A B58 is a B58 & is very mod friendly with what is in the market. As I am not modifying the powertrain this time been playing with silly stuff.

Pretty much everything through Amazon.

BMS Strut Braces

Puddle Light

M Fender Trim - Will change to '25 6MT Black/Silver outline on all trim.

Black Grill, Black Intake Vents, Yellow DRL.

Vanity Plate - My second one in my driving history.

Wind Block

Have the Z4 floor & trunk mats doing their job. Maybe a bath on Saturday.

I like your license plate holder. I ordered a Z4 M40 HS a few weeks ago. Trying to be patient.

Two red cars, two black cars, two blue cars. The new Z4 will be a third black car. Very excited about it.

Yep, I really do like Red cars. Most of my cars over time have fallen into red, black or gray except for two TR3A & an Morgan SS that were British Racing Green.

Right now have 3 Red, 3 Black, and a Dark Gray.

FWIW the Gray Ferrari had a set of prototype red wheels on it. Was some kind of translucent red finish over a chrome like base.

Car belonged to the guy in the white baseball hat.
