My wife has a friend whose husband is such a Scotch aficionado that they actually traveled to Scotland just to drink (mostly). He keeps plying me with the stuff when go to visit, pulling out 3 or 4 bottles and rambling on about their various qualities. Then he asks me which one I want. I just sit there for a minute, then I say "you choose" and he gives me a glass of one of them. Then I take about an hour to drink it.
I. Do. Not. Like. Scotch. |

I generally do NOT like Scotch as it is far too smokey for my tastes. With ice this is doable.
However...JW Blue is the exception for me. |

Scotch definitely is not the liquor that changes "the most" with water or ice, a lot of American whiskeys open up just as much if not more.

I, like everyone else here, voices their opinion. And yes. The Glenmorangie I have is doable, as I already stated. There is no secret of my preference for Rums. Which should tell you all you need to know about my palate. With Cognac running a close second. |

Picked up a bottle of Suntory Toki over the weekend. Forgot to grab a pic. Had a few glasses Friday night, and about polished it off yesterday during our fantasy football draft. Real smooth and doesn't have a ton of bite. Which was nice for how we were drinking it. Definitely happy with it for the $35 price tag!

rented a lake house with some friends for the long weekend and kicked it off nicely...
my buddy brought this, but as an avid bourbon drinker, i had not heard of it. i was not aware of it's rarity or secondary market price. it's a really nice sipper, but not worth anywhere near $500!!!

Learned about this from a Tequila expert from Mexico.
After an extensive search, I located the last few bottles @ 30 miles away. Extremely smooth and one of the best Tequilas I have ever tasted! |

A few off the top of my head would be Elijah Craig barrel proof (the c19 and A20 were both solid), sagamore rye CS, Jack Daniels BP, stagg jr to name a few I like a few drops of water in. Some you don't really gain much like OF 1920, OGD114, Makers mark CS, MM private selects (the ones I've tried), and store picks are hit and miss.

Almost didn't see past the straw... Is that a Yard House menu in the background?
They have an extensive draft beer selection. New Holland Dragon's Milk on tap! I'll take a growler to go please!
