Porsche Macan, the best version you can get under your price cap.

At a regular speed, it sounds quite nice.

Once it goes over a certain rpm, it sounds like it's screaming BKAHHHHHH

It can get a little jarring to me, but to each his own.

Okay - so some updates.

1. Drove a 2015 Granturismo. The engine note on that car is insane. Power is 'good enough' and the look of the car is pure sex. I feel like the designers just said, if it doesn't move, cover it in leather, for the inside. Absolutely loved the car. The tech in it is absolutely horrific. That is the only down side.

They had a 2018 Gran Cabrio as well with the updated tech. That makes the car - if I could get a 2018 in my budget, I would have drove it home that day.

2. Drove a 2016 GT350. This example was not great as the car was obviously rode hard and put away wet. Just a rough example. The engine sound on this car was excellent as well, but honestly - I thought the Maserati sounded substantially better. The flat plane was awesome though - loved how free revving the engine was. Car was faster than I ever need.

That was about it, though. The exterior is 'meh' at best. the interior is abysmal. It honestly felt like I was in a plastic Tupperware container.

3. The Aston was sold when I got there, so never got to check that one out.

So right now - the Granturismo is the front runner. Just need to see if I can find a deal on a 2018, cause that would be perfect. Probably gonna be a 2015 though due to $$$.

What's the price gap between the ford and the Maserati? It's weird as i was looking to alternatives to a 997 and the Maserati and the Jag XKR-S 2+2 cabs were short listed but both are really GT's at heart. They cost about the same as a sorted 997 and will depreciate much faster. Not saying go get a 997 as that's not what your brief is asking for, just saying i've also taken a squiz at these options.

Just did some poking around, the Maserati comes in a trim called SPORTLINE, to me, looks WAY better than the regular trim as it looks way more ....well..... sporty.

They are similar in price.

2015-2016 Granturismo S with less than 40k miles is running around $55K - $65K.

2016-2017 GT350 with similar miles is around $52K - $59K.

Here are a couple I've got my eye on (note the one at the Merc dealer is not an MC, it's just incorrectly listed):

WHy black man? Hides the shape too much. And I am not a fan of their 2 tone interiors.

There's a lovely light blue one, great colour but white interior. At your price point i'd go this one.

Tech or not, this is the pick of the litter IMHO.

Yeah - I'm not a huge fan of the black either, but really - it's condition, service history, and interior color that are most important to me.

I don't want another black interior, so that is why you see the ones I am looking at are what they are.

We shall see - I am on the hunt, but wont' jump until the right car at the right price comes along.

Ha - it's seriously a pretty cool car. Is it a 'sports car'? No, not really - but I have the 4C for that.

It's a proper grand tourer and if you get the 2013 and up models, it's decidedly quite reliable.

See that's the issue, I don't have a sports car. I would DD the Maserati though, save me both the hassle of running 3 cars and the $3K a year to keep a 3rd car on the road.

It's something to consider. I am looking at the Maserati as my daily driver. Although I don't drive too much - maybe 100 miles a week or so.

Me too, I drive about 6K miles a year, hence the sensible side of me says 3 cars is too much.

Lol. Go Trudeau.

I pay about $1800 a year for both Alfa's and the i8, all with full coverage, and that includes my homeowners insurance, combined.

I'm clean as a whistle record and pay near $6k for 2 cars and the house. That's with a significant discount for the wife being a member of the BAR.

Looking at the numbers, convertibles anyways, jesus H she's heavy. SOme 900+ pounds heavier than a 911. If that sounds unfair, it is still some 460 pounds heavier than a new Mustang GT.
