2025 Z4M40i Seat Belt Question

Hi Everyone!!

I'm new to this forum and I'm happy to say that I've got an order, production number and production week (Week 10, the second week of March) confirmed for a new 2025 Z4 M40i with manual transmission. (So Excited!!). I've selected my colors and options, and have been working with my local dealer to make this happen. My dealer tells me that I have several more days before we "lock in" the final order, so I'm making sure that everything is optioned correctly on the car.

As I think we all have, I've been waiting for the BMWUSA website to get the configurator up - and while I've been waiting, I've been going to BMW.de to spec the car out with their visualizer. While doing this, I noticed that for ~300 Euro, it is possible to order ///M seatbelts for the Z4. This is not an option in the US - here is my question:

Does anyone know the three or four digit option code is for these seatbelts (possibly someone in Germany?) and is it possible to add this option code to a US-spec car? I've heard the legend that stuff like this is possible, but I've not had any experience with this and legends are sometimes wrong. Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated...my thought is to find the order code for this option, see if I can have my dealer add it to my build sheet and get these seat belts. Seems crazy, but why not try? Asking any dealer to figure this out is harder than winning the Powerball, so I thought I would start here first.

Many thanks for the thoughts and for the help!

Doubt it would be possible. There's no individual paint options or anything available for the Z4, so I'm assuming this would work the same way.

Code for M seatbelts (in Belgium) is 4GQ

The individual paint not being an option is because the Z4 is not manufactured in a BMW plant. A Belgium Z4 with M seatbelts however is rolling off the same production line as a US Z4. So technically there should be no limitation (in theory).

Yeah, you'd think if it worked for one country it would for another, unless they consider it safety related somehow and not approved (not tested)?

I don't see any 4GQ in our US price / option sheets.

I believe BMW NA determines what is available in our market. It's also why we don't have the small M logo on the front fenders like our countries do. They literally spec it without that.

I've reached out to BMW NA to see if it's possible. Wait and see. Should know by Friday.

Thank you @M6BEL for the build code - I will take this to my dealer and see what they say/can do and I'll report back with what they say...also interested to see what @calbears is able to find out from BMW NA. Thanks to you both!!

Thanks @Calbears...still waiting to hear back from my dealer, but it looks like the ///M seatbelts are a ROW option, not to come to the US. Appreciate the help/response and if BMWNA is active in or reading these posts...

**OPEN UP INDIVIDUAL OPTIONS & COLORS FOR VEHICLES LIKE THE Z4...YOU ARE LEAVING MONEY AND CUSTOMERS ON THE TABLE**

Magna is able to do multiple options and colors for other vehicles (G Class, for an example, which has been/is produced at the same factory) so why limit the Z4? I get the volume issue, but it's a cycle...limit options, limit sales. Just my opinion...but I'm still jazzed to get my Z4 this spring, ///M seatbelts or not.
