Gloss black M40i emblem

Hi,

I'm new here and I'd like some help, if possible.

The M40i emblem on the trunk of my Z4 was stolen and I ordered and recieved a replacement in gloss black (BMW part # 51142472847) but it seems larger than the original.

Before I stick it on, could someone please measure and tell me the size of the stock M40i badge ?

Thanks,

Pete

Also looking at the IND website, the SKU matches.

51142472846 is the gloss black Z4
51142472847 is the M40i

Not sure what you're even trying to say here, but it seems to be completely unnecessary, regardless.

Thanks Horseman for the quick reply. I shall check the size of my emblem tonight when I come back from work.

However, I'd still like to know the size of the original chrome M40i emblem, since I'm convinced that the gloss black one I recieved is larger than the one that comes with the car.

What I’m saying here is that no one has the right to vandalize someone’s property.

I’m sorry, but it is wrong and will always be wrong to steal / vandalize put your hands or take anything that does not belong to you. And the people who do those things will have serious consequences come back on them.

On top of stealing a badge off a car, create scratches on top of now this man has to spend money out of his pocket when someone else’s hands have been put on his vehicle.

Gotcha, this explanation makes more sense. Apologies, your initial response was not interpreted in this way.

Absolutely agree with you! REALLY do not understand why someone would steal the badging. Like.. WHY? I don't get it.

Thanks Horseman, your pics say it all !!!!!

I was mistaken about the gloss black being larger......the part did come from BMW after all.

Hi Horseman,

It's confirmed - my black emblem is the same size as what you've shown. Case closed, thanks !!!

BTW, below is what I've found while browsing.

#5 is for the Z4, #8 is for the X3 and #11 is for the X4.

That's just M Sport trim. The badge on the boot means an M performance tuned car. That really doesn't apply to a 1.5l diesel

That's actually a cool looking car. Wish we had more wagons/hatchbacks in the US.

Sure.. same as the M40i isn't a 4.0 liter engine.

Just saying I didn't even know this car even existed.

I think this is only for the Z4 emblem not the coloured logo. I could be wrong but for me that page is a little confusing.

Look a little more closely at the two blue highlighted details in the page listing in Horseman's post.

Would love that for my winter beater especially manual in the same color as my Z4.
