Yeah though with some of those crashes it depends on the model Corvette as much as the joker at the wheel. Some of the older vettes handled like a shopping cart with a V8 strapped to it. I'm going to put the blame for the Ferrari crash in the lap of the so called "driver".

For a while the new C8 Vette was calling my name. Love the mid-engine setup and it sure as hell doesn't look like your typical Corvette either. Has a more.... Italian look to it?

Good instruction from a talented driver can definitely help but you're right, there has to be some skill base to build on.

I was working on a flat roof in Boston, the head of the association (deciding owner) was on the roof with me

Owner: what can you do with this roof opening and lid? It's likely 1970's "Roof hatch" me: I will defiantly "mcgiver" something there

Owner: lost look in his eyes, what does "mcgiver" mean?!?

Me: I'll get some spare lumber to frame it better and make a lid with remaining roof membrane with some hooks attached for a snug fit, it'll take me an hour, no additional cost

Owner had no clue what the term "mcgivering" a problem meant, I felt so old

Indeed, and talented instructor helps, but you need more than a few days to get good. It's like peeling an onion. You get better layer, after layer after layer. And that takes time and commitment. And good instruction.

That's how I learned!

And just 2 weeks ago I managed 3 Nurburgring Nordschleife laps under 8 minutes, with the fastest being 7:52.4. Life goal was 7:55. Next life goal 7:47
