Good catch. The font does not match IND red button. I'll be returning it and getting one from IND unless there's an OEM for g80.

Got the new START/STOP button with OEM font. Unfortunately, the color is off. Also ordered blue with "wrong" font but I think I'll keep it.

I don't know personally.
Red paint with a steering wheel with blue on it... I get the carbon fiber part but the mix and match of colors....

But then if you already have all kind of color mismatch why not I guess.

No blue on my wheel did not choose one with the on center stripe. Its really nice having the ability to buy what you want. I do like the red secondary paddles a nice contrast with the interior.

That said I guess you will have to bitch to BMW if you don't like red when you buy your own ///M car.

They like red for some items as the start button & secondary paddles which only come in red along the plus minus indicators on the extended carbon fiber shift paddles.

Well I went by what you had in the photos. I forgot that you post photos of what others have that you don't. My bad.
What bothers me is not so much the red with the red but the mismatch of adding blue to a red car with that steering wheel blue stripe.
However I guess this is a moult point since you are posting the wrong photo (or just a photo of what you do not have). Or do you have the blue stripe one on your m4 and posted in the wrong forum?

Regardless. I would avoid this much color mismatch. Or post the actual photo of what you have and not what someone else has.

Easy to confuse you I guess using BMW stock photos rather than wasting time to take shots for a guy who wants to hang Civic Fast & Furious undercarriage lights on a Z4.

My original driveway shot in the Supra MT thread post #14 had all but one car in it.

Did not want you to be confused between a black truck & a black Z4 on the driveway so just trying to help you out by labeling them.

This is what the speedometer looks like coded with the 200 mile limit replacing the base one. Think the 200 is in the file because of the MPH limiter being removed with specific options. Actual speed fuel cutoff is raised to mid 180's.

Don't know if its still available but it was part of a track day training session at BMW.

On my older Coupes 335, 435, 440 going back to the 2011 335is the JB4 removed the speed limit block. Have not done the Z4 so don't know if that still works

Interesting. Sounds like an unofficial version of the M Driver (or M Performance Driver) option. I’m assuming that since this is a BMW sanctioned increase, a stock Z4 M40i can actually hit that mid-180s number (not drag limited) under the right conditions?

There are some youtube vids of the Z4 on the Autobahn with the speedometer showing 182/183mph. They are cars with the 155 mph limiter defeated not BMW M Driver (or M Performance Driver) optioned.

Looking at the videos it look like the cars are all done at that speed.

Would have to look at the tach to see if its drag or RPM limiting the cars.

Expect the actual don't be stupid limit is based on what the tires are rated for.

IIRC the current M3/4C are also done in the low to mid 180's they just get there quicker, which suggests its a RPM limit on the engine not drag.

What are the red shifters vs the regular paddle shifters (I’m guess I’m too lazy to look it up)? Having a splash of red looks pretty nice, too!

Whoa.....now I will get in trouble for showing off. Was not my intention but got a feeling I was being challenged as to if I had the car. It was a picture I had on my phone that showed the wheel. Our beach house is in Ocean Island Beach NC.

The Z4 is the car of choice to drive there. Almost 100% of the beach runs are in the Z. 80+ MPH average speeds 30+MPG great in maneuverability to get around slower traffic. Whats not to like.

Car is a keeper unless a really nice red color comes out before production stops. My BMW keepers usually stay about 10 years. Last to go away was the 2013 135is convertible that replaced a 2004 330CI ZHP covetable
