Anyone can be sued for any reason. I don't get the connection.
I'd agree he needed to be more careful had he lost the lawsuit. Did he?
Yes, unhinged is a negative thing. At least that was my intent; to paint him in a negative light. Make no mistake about my comment, being "unhinged" equates to being mentally incapable of running a successful global car company. That's my opinion and it has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not he prevails in this lawsuit. It has everything to do with the fact that he's in this lawsuit at all. That he took the time to get into a Twitter pissing contest with a rescue diver instead of focusing on Tesla which continues to miss production targets, continues to miss shipment targets, continues to miss quality targets, and continues to bleed top brass. All the while, Elon has the audacity to think he can do this all himself. He needs to put down the flamethrowers, put down the bong, and focus on getting his company back on track.

So no, I don't trust him with my money. Fee free to disagree and throw every penny you have at him it's your right to do so. Feel free to disagree that he's mentally unstable. I dont know him personally and I'm not a shrink, so I'm wholly unqualified to determine if he's actually unstable, but he APPEARS unstable enough to have me question his capacities and thus I pulled my money out. Invest away if you disagree with me. You do you.
I cannot have a strong opinion of him either way.

I think his numbers and growth, and results (both financial, in products and solutions, the tangibles and in the intangibles) speak for his style and abilities.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, I'm just not sure why they always feel like they should emit them. Like everyone saying "this singer does not sing well enough or he's fat" on Twitter...

That's like saying Trump would do a better job on the economy if he twitted less........

Thanks for cutting me some slack vis--vis "napkin math." I actually screwed it up even more by saying 20 panels at 250 watts per hour would generate 5KW per day - what a dope - the sun doesn't shine 24/7 now does it? I used the 20% loss factor based on what a tech told me - I didn't realize it could be as high as the 60% you mentioned - wow, that's a BIG loss and significantly changes the entire equation.

I should never post napkin math or anything close to it while simultaneously trying to compile my projected 2018 tax liability.

Apologies to all.....

Listen, for what it's worth, I love the product and the tech. I was a strong believer in Musk, his abilities, and the company. So much so that I had quite a bit of money invested in them. I'm thoroughly disappointed in his actions as of late. That's the reason for my venting my opinions. I'm pissed as hell. I want Musk to be better than he is. I want him to be the leader I think he can and should be. I want to regain my faith in the chances for the company to succeed.

That most Prius drivers traded in towards or cross-shopped the Tesla (the others being 3series, Accord, Civic, Leaf). Secondly many people compare sales of Tesla with the Prius and (IIRC) Elon Musk stated that the Model-3 was meant to poach customers from the Prius fold because the Prius is only "2% EV", lastly a great of funding and engineering came from Toyota's investment and involvement in TSLA.

So you too think a Tesla is a toy car and a Prius is a solid vehicle?

No. I think Tesla produces well marketed piece of sh!t and I would not buy a Prius and would probably only own one if given to me for free. Neither are for me in any way.

i hope this diver sinks musk with this lawsuit.

musk needs to be held accountable for doing everything he could to destroy the diver, just because he said that musk's sub wouldnt work. Which, btw, was the opinion of many on the rescue crew.

A similar story would be "BMW stolen using only a random key"

Not sure which news is worse for TSLA today... The DOJ lawsuit or the Audi e-Tron press release:

Wow, I guess all you need to escape prison time for massive securities fraud is to have your name be Elon Musk. Justice sure is blind in the good 'ole USofA huh?

Absolutely outrageous, care to think what would have happened to one of us normal plebs in the same situation?

I believe a marriage between TSLA and GM would be the most beneficial for both companies. TSLA would receive access to manufacturing and production not only locally but globally which would give them the ability to increase margins and actually have a real factory not a tent and GM would get access to new tech that would keep them relevant. Tesla could be a standalone premium line or just a separate brand altogether. I think this would be a win/win for both parties. The other would be VAG but they have enough companies under their umbrella with the ability to create similar tech for far less than buying out TSLA. Either way I am happy that the Musktake has now been remedied and Musk is stepping down.

Didn't you buy a bunch more shares right around the time Musk was tweeting about deals with the saudis? I wonder if you'll be able to tap into that $20M that's being set aside for shareholder damages. Would be interested to hear how that shakes out.
