Sorry to hear. For the money you are spending, they should be more attentive to your needs. That said, give it 2 weeks at port then call genius to get a ship name.

If the 2022 Z4 video in the other thread is correct, the new M40i version is $1k more and no longer has a wireless charging pad or a WI-FI hotspot. I think we hit the sweet spot with the 2021 model.

I saw that video too. I believe the lumbar on passenger side is out as well. Keep in mind that is Canadian spec too. But I have seen other threads where the charge pad and wi-fi was removed. Gotta be due to the chip shortage.

Well, I give up. I really wanted to buy a BMW Z4 and I was really excited about doing so, but apparently BMW is determined to prevent me from switching from Audi.

As previously documented, the Genius line has given me conflicting information since my car was built. I was ASSURED on Monday that the car was going to be released by the VPC in Brunswick yesterday and at my dealership today. I asked, again, about the audio module and he told me that the system would not show it was going to be released from the VPC unless that had been resolved.

Needless to say, no car today. Now I am being told, again, that there is absolutely no indication of when the RAM might be available. This is just absurd to me. They built the car knowing they didn't have the part and now it's just going to sit while I wait until God knows when. I don't think so. The fact that they can't even give me an ETA tells me that there is literally no solution in sight.

Frankly, I am so incredibly frustrated by the constantly incorrect information, I I am no longer certain I even want to be a BMW customer. It's as if they keep giving me hope so I don't buy something else, just to pull the rug out again.

Screw it. It's just a car. I will start shopping for something else. Good luck to any of you waiting for a RAM module.

I'm so sorry to hear this news. Unacceptable to be leaving you out to dry like this. Honestly, I wouldn't blame you if you went to go look for something else. I'd also demand my deposit back too since it's obviously not your fault that they can't get their shit together.

I get that this is frustrating, and it would be driving me nuts by now, but having worked in the consumer electronics space, sometimes things happen with suppliers that are out of your control, including those suppliers missing their delivery dates for components. Given the supply chain interruptions due to the pandemic, it’s not surprising for people to not have accurate information or to be given overly optimistic estimates by suppliers only to have them not deliver. I’ve gone through tsunamis wiping out hard drive factories and fires and floods taking out chip manufactures creating weeks and months of delays. Eventually it all gets sorted out. I know you are frustrated with BMW giving inaccurate information, but they may be getting changing information from their sources. My guess is the reason they won’t quote you a date is because they don’t want to give you bad information (again).

At the end of the day they want to sell you that car and don’t want to be paying for storage fees while it sits in a lot waiting on a part, plus the cost of retrofitting a new module. I’m sure if they could resolve it today they would.

I know it stinks to be in this holding pattern, but it should eventually get resolved and they will complete the car you ordered. Having said that, it doesn’t hurt to look to see what else is out there, especially knowing that this car is eventually coming.

Man, I'm sorry to hear that too. It is frustrating. Even though you are not out the cost of capital BMW is, you are out the joy and fun times you planned for yourself. I would expect they give your deposit back at a minimum or a couple grand off for the long wait. Either way you choose, I wish you the best of luck.

It sounds like a situation that will be solved without warning. The car will make it to the dealership swiftly afterwards. And the wait will seem like yesterday's news.

Personally ...I could not imagine buying another car but the Z4 now that I have mine. It is a wonderful automobile.

I agree with everyone else - hang in there. It is worth the wait. I think I mentioned this but I waited over 5 months for mine.
