Ordered a 30i in April. It was completed on May 10. It's still in Bremerhaven waiting on a ship. Two ships have left Bremerhaven headed to Brunswick since my car was delivered to the port. Didn't make it on either.

Then there was a holiday in Germany and the port was closed for 4 days. But for some really odd reason, trips have been cancelled and schedules changed so that we are now in a two week period without a single ship leaving from there for the east coast. Normally, there are ships every day or two.

What's even odder is that the next ship, K-Line's Niagara Highway, has been sitting at anchor outside Bremerhaven for two days despite there not being a single RoRo in the port at the moment. The schedule for this ship just slipped 3 days. I can't for the life of me understand why this 3 day delay when there must be thousands of cars lined up, ready to ship to the east coast, and no backup in the port.

WW also changed its schedule, again, for more delays so that now there are ships scheduled for 6/1, 6/4, another one on 6/4, 6/5, 6/6, 6/7, etc. The last ship to leave there for the east coast was May 22.

Sorry, just had to vent. I am completely baffled about this endless delay...

No, no PCD delivery. I raced for about 20 years so I got most of that need for speed out of my system. But I do get to watch my car arrive in Brunswick, if the dang Z4 is ever put on a ship in Germany. Hopefully Niagara Highway, which finally arrived in Bremerhaven today.

We live near the famous Golden Ray and have been watching the RoRos come and go for decades. Well, except for the Golden Ray. That one arrived nearly two years ago and is still here.

Of course the car has to go from passing in front of our house, to the Brunswick port, to the VDC, onto a truck, and down to the dealer in Jacksonville.

It must be nice to watch the ships passing back and forth. Hopefully yours will be on its way shortly. Mine is on its last leg to Charleston from Brunswick and should arrive in less than 10 hours. Fingers crossed it doesn’t go the way of the Golden Ray, especially since I just sold my current car.

You still got a month on your PCD. It'll make it. That's why they schedule it out so far.

Interesting note, my dealership sent me a notification yesterday saying they are pulling my credit for May incentives. I responded with sure and that I already printed the Veterans incentive. Anything to lower the price.

I know there is the BMW loyalty and if you are a USAA member or Veteran; there is one as well. Also, 0.9% for 60 months is on the table too. Go find yours sir.

Well, yet another ship has come and gone without my car. That's 4 now. A call back to BMW yielded new information. There is a new open recall, as of May 18, related to a refit of an audio module. They think, maybe, the part might be in in the next week, but no guarantees. Of course, the previous 3 customer service reps I called could have provided this info, but no.

At this rate, it will be July before my car gets to Brunswick. So insanely frustrated. I have no idea why it seems that everyone else's cars are shipping right away while mine sits and sits and sits. How is it that this recall isn't impacting other orders?

I guess this is what I get for switching to BMW after 25 years of Audis...

Sorry for your frustration. Not sure on the recall, but it sounds dubious not to ship something and cover the recall thru the dealer. Especially while others ship. I'm thinking maybe the vehicle was damaged at the port and returned to the factory and is waiting in line for repair or new panels.

If it makes you feel better, I waited over five months after placing a deposit to take delivery. It'll arrive - hang in there.
What I told myself during the wait was that I wasn't going to let a car (or lack of one) get in the way of me enjoying things.

I am very fortunate to have a friend with a plane who has been waiting for over a year to take us up for a ride. When he mentioned going to SC today, I asked if he could take a detour over port Charleston. The vessel that brought my car is the red one with the K. These were taken with my phone. I also took some with a telephoto that I need to process to see if any of the offloaded vehicles look like mine.

I'm glad you clarified which vessel. I would hate to read posts of people mistaken the car arrived on the aircraft carrier.

Thanks, it really was. It was total coincidence that the ship had arrived and that this over a year delayed flight happened at the same time. I’m hoping that some of the telephoto shots came out, but we were bumping up and down a bit and I’m not sure I was able to get anything in focus. I’ll look tomorrow.
